The Unfortunate Faces of Portia Dupree

Caught the movie on DVD. The film does a great job pulling the viewer in with the setup - a prominent businessman's daughter is murdered, and a team of detectives, on a rainy night, must figure it out through interrogations and flash-backs.

Cast was really good. The especially the detectives and Portia. They all do a good job building suspense. Even when I thought it was obvious, I wasn't too sure up until the end. Liked it a lot.

Felt the movie was original. Even for a mystery, it stayed away from a lot of clichés, and the ending left me wanting a sequel. If you can see this movie somewhere, I highly recommend.

Caught this movie at a local Cinema. It was shot locally, and used local actors. Yes. This is certainly a small budget film. But it grabs you. Before you know it,you are in for the ride. One of those movies where you aren't sure what is going on. Who killed Portia? Is she really dead? Why are they afraid of her? (this becomes clear) What was really going on in Portia's head? The actors were really good. Loved them all. The story is interesting. The movie is FUNNY, with some great lines and funny moments to break the tension. Even if you think you can see the ending coming, you are never really sure until the VERY end. This is definitely a movie you should find and check out.
