I love when they break the fourth wall and mention the candy bar in the first act and how Morty's character has remained intact. Yeah, Morty will probably never get lucky. I like the satire with the bad writer, especially with, "Why don't we go back to three weeks ago when you're alive?!". Rick delivers the best lines and I love how he just zaps Morty to stop him. I had no idea those suits would come from that machine he sent for. My only complaint about this episode is that the subplot with Summer and Morty's dad doesn't really go anywhere. Still great. ***1/2

- QuizMorty's criticism of the lighthouse owner's screenplay beginning with a "Three Weeks Earlier" title is a reference to Dan Harmon's own dislike of that device, as discussed in a 2013 episode of Harmon's podcast "Harmontown". However, Morty's preference for having stories "start where they begin, not where they get interesting" is an in-joke, as several Rick and Morty episodes immediately jump into the middle of the action without any introduction.
- BlooperAt the end it's suggested they never had an economic system on that planet but they have stores and there are rich people.
- Citazioni
Jerry: What' you doing? Watching some tv, playing on your phone?
Summer: Is that a real question?
Jerry: Just making conversation.
Summer: Are you? What part of that gives me anything to work with? My choice is to: say nothing, be sarcastic, or bark "yes" like a trained animal. It's not a conversation; you're holding me verbally hostage.
