Edit: Decided to check out this game a little bit more since I seen the servers were closing down in December 2024. Now, when I first left my review, I haven't played the game in years, and honestly, I wasn't fond of multiplayer-only games especially if it doesn't have any story and is just pvp based. Nowadays, I'm a little more lenient in those genres of games since I found that games don't always need a plot to be fun and enjoyable, but I do need some substance for the game to be worth playing. Now, coming back to this, the multiplayer aspects is pretty straightforward, as in a lobby, you have up to 7 people who play as counselors and 1 person plays as Jason. I think the biggest problem with this game is that because the game is so old and straightforward, everyone that still plays already knows exactly what to do, and for me, was a little frustrating trying to get away from Jason when the person playing Jason has thousands of hours logged in the game and just plays the game to either grief or just troll. Idk after I'd say 20 rounds, I started getting the hang of it, and started enjoying it little by little, I even was able to kill Jason finally and get a few achievements, but sadly , the game is no more, as the servers have officially shut down. I was sad as I was planning on getting a couple more of the achievements, but I was just too busy and didn't have the time. In all, I had fun with this game, and appreciate what it was. Personally I would have rather had a story based Jason game, but this was good enough to warrant the hours spent.
After all, the game has many more ways to win for both the victim and the maniac! But because of these copyrights, it's quickly lost online, because the developers were blocked from accessing the game, and it became empty for the rest of the time...
The game was hacked on the PC and it finally died, but it's free on PlayStation and still keeps some online She left a lot of emotions and warm memories for me and is one of my favorites, despite everything.
Actually, try to play (if you have a playstation), it's still quite interesting.
Thanks to this game, I became a fan of the entire franchise. I can't rate it's objectively. Just my ex-love...
My rating : 10/10 (legendary game and good personal impact for me)
Then you get to the horrible changes they've made to the game over time. In the beginning it was a pretty fun game, but now so horribly unbalanced it becomes laughable.
On top of all that, the game is effectively dead. You'll be waiting anywhere up to half an hour for a lobby since nobody is playing anymore, and the Ft13th lawsuit prevents anything new from ever being added to the game.
The only slightly redeemable factor is the offline challenges you can do, but get very repetitive really quickly.
Might have been worth buying in the beginning, but certainly not now

- QuizIn early June, barely a year after the games release, a lawsuit filed for creative rights forced future DLC to be cancelled indefinitely. This includes Uber Jason and the Grendel map from Jason X (2001), pictures of Pamela when she was young, a pajama clothing pack, and much more.
- BlooperWhile driving a car, the speedometer will still display 0 miles per hour.
