This was a decent movie, but often times seemed to wander without purpose. The worst part of the movie, for me, was Shane. His acting was atrocious, and at no point did he ever come across as authentic. And the subtitles, which i had turned on, were TERRIBLE.
This is a pretty useless effort all round. There is nothing frightening about it and the story is boring. There's a bit of gore but it's film school stuff. Plus, there's an annoying white guy doing a bad Rastafarian act the entire way through. However, there is one amusing scene in the film, which includes the annoying white guy, so he gets a half-pass. It's also the only reason it got one extra star. Avoid this 'film' like the plague.

This film is built on a gimmick - the notion that the characters are making a terrible film and we, the audience, get to see the ensuing train wreck.
However, the film itself becomes a train wreck, using tired jokes and uninspired writing. Every scene feels forced and there's no character to root for. The "bad guys" look like people who just grabbed some Halloween garb off the clearance rack and the "good guys" are supposed to be your goofy Scooby Doo mystery team types, but that cliché only works if the film were set in an era before people reviewed every location on the internet and before you could vet any person with the touch of a button.
The worst part is, there's this smugness to all the writing that just makes it seem in every line of dialogue like the writer thought he was being the most clever guy who ever walked the planet. Hopefully he learned from this experience that a "so bad that it's good" film is usually fun because its creators worked extremely hard at something that INADVERTENTLY turned out extremely bad. They didn't make it bad ON PURPOSE.
However, this film was made badly on purpose to try to cash in on that type. All the "so bad they're good" movies were never planned that way, and this film is no exception. It's just bad.

Where to even begin with this nonsense? I have no clue what they they were attempting here but it missed at every turn. Were they going for the 'Inception' of cheap horror flicks? Was it supposed to be respected as an actual film?
This hot garbage had no structure, instead choosing to jump between asleep and deep asleep it a movie that never hit. The effects were a cheese fest which was supposed to be 'part of the gar' I guess and then switches ' no we're serious' and back to 'no were not'. The dialog is painfully ridiculous and the acting is even worse. Plot points go no where. ..... And 'My cat is stuck in the tree anyone???'
Seriously, just avoid this train wreck. It doesn't even have 'dumb fun'.

Look, it's a low budget film and never pretends otherwise, and I have a warm place in my heart for low budget films and film makers who are smart and make the most out of what they've got. Like these guys. For its type (yes, if you haven't figured it out already yes there's some gore and blood), style, subject...well done, folks. A fun ride.

Strong story, characters and directing. Gave us a familiar topic but delivered in a way that was fresh and new. Play along and enjoy the ride that Virgin Cheerleaders in Chains takes you on. As a reviewer, I was very impressed with the care and attention Gary Gannaway put into making a genuine high quality horror film. It never feels like an Indie film and is that rare gem.
Given the title, I wasn't expecting much. The lighting was also a little too dark throughout. But overall an entertaining film with a good twist at the end.

Saw this at the River Fest Film Festival after a long day of viewing long and short films. Out of the fifteen movies I saw that day, this one still sticks out to me. This movie doesn't take itself too seriously and the audience is let in on the fun. Too many horror movies leave out the humor and try to make you jump out of your seat. But this one was a nicely story within a story that left me happy that I saw it.
It is a story about a group of people that are trying to write and film a horror movie. While on location, the movie becomes reality as members of the crew are picked off one at a time. Come for the movie making and stay for the slashing and hacking!

This movie was an amazing take on the standard slasher film. It is smart, and suprising all at the same time. I was smiling through the whole thing, because I knew I was witnessing something truly unique.

It's a solid product! Silliness, fantastic gore shooting, plot surprises, and great timing kept me on the edge of my seat....all worked together so well to make it palatable (barely).
Most of the reviews for this film are good! Don't let the few bad reviews stop you from enjoying this unique film. Also, the film's choice of title is part of the humor related to the story of aspiring would be film makers. There's no real over the top nudity, sleaze or torture porn here! This is a film for intelligent fans of horror who have seen more than enough predictable horror films looking for something just a little different. Beautifully shot with strong female leads that still delivers the horror! Has a pretty impressive cast, several of who have gone on to star in some pretty major projects. The main cast also includes legendary stuntman and actor Gary Kent, (stunt coordinator for films like "Bubba Ho-Tep etc"), who is the real life inspiration for the character portrayed by Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood". Lot's of inside jokes related to the film industry, and for horror fans, things get pretty intense and bloody in the third act. It's a meta horror comedy film so things are not always as they appear, so watch the whole film! Highly recommended!

Entertaining movie with great script and good directing. If drives me crazy when people review a lower budget movie like it's a main stream film. Loved the movie and ending had me thinking. Highly recommended.
