I like the basic idea time travelling and ideas about changing past and the effect over the time line, but that's all, the acting, direction and sequence on scenes is worst ever, I think a couple of kids with a cellphone can film a way better material than these guys.

I don't know if anyone actually sat and watched the intro of the show but there's a few images of Master Chief from the Halo video game series. Please tell me I'm not the only person to have noticed this. I even compared the two together and they're identical. So my question now is, why is my favorite video game character on a show that has absolutely nothing to do him?

The thing about such a show is, you have to be prepared that low budget doesn't offer as much as you are used to, and we are pretty spoiled with triple A shows via streaming.
Taken that into consideration...
Positives: Good looking actors. Some good prop use. Potential story.
Negatives: Bad acting. Bad editing(even audio sync issues, and at some point even a dodgy audio sync done by someone completely else, as if the original actor didnt felt like recording lines again after they lost the original audio) Bad shaky camerawork. Poorly executed story. Bad narrative. Lots of important context missing and numerous (obvious) plotholes.
All in all, I can understand this could've been a school project and if this was so, I would totally respect and forgive all blamages. But most school project don't make an entire season of a show. And most actors would be a bit younger. So, it this reeks like a low budget production by a small studio. And for that, this show is beneath low budget level quality. I have watched it from A to Z, as I hate to do partially reviews and sometimes mid season things can change, but alas.
This show does serve greatly as an example for filmclasses, how to detect certain errors, and how to avoid them, doing it better. I give it three stars, because nobody deserves one stars because efford and attempt alone counts for something. But it is well below OK.
One important and funny addition: Michael Madsen played a influential role and isn't credited. Was this on purpose? Did he even wanted to put this on his resume? I guess not.
Even Michael Madsen didn't lift the acting levels up. It felt like he did this one a lazy sunday, and shot the entire season worth of his lines in a few hours. Logically, since his time is too valuable. But it's a shame that even Michael was acting poorly, as if he didn't memorized anything, and just line for line recorded his part. So I guess he did someone a favor, I think. I felt like he didn't wanted to be in it. Or maybe it was because he had to wear eye liner. I don't know. Dissapointing, Michael... I would expected better from you!

I decided to watch the show despite the reviews. I figured that there's no way that the show can be THAT bad, right? Wrong. This show has HORRIBLE actors. You know when you watch something and you can tell the people are acting? Yup that's how it is with this garbage show.
The show also makes no sense. They did even proof read their own plot? There are so many plot holes

The whole show, from start to finish, is garbage. The plot is great. They had an opportunity to make a really awesome show; but the acting is absolutely disastrous.
Cringey writing, cringey acting, cringey soundtrack... And not in a 'so bad it's good' kind of way.
Rip off 2006's movie Children of Men which was a great movie except this was written by the kids in high school no one wanted to partnered with.
I wonder if the talentless dinguses that wrote this script actually thought they had an original idea after forgetting about watching the original movie or if they thought hey could get away with blatantly copying an idea without people noticing.

I'm 4 minutes in and suits with bearded thugs go after one voice of reason. Pushing on in hopes of it getting better...Sounds familiar in 2020 during a pandemic. Horrible acting and writing. And um, 2012 is when we stop having kids but they send people back 5 years too late to fix it? Kinda defeats everything. This could have been so so so much better.

Best time travel spoof since the hot tub...
Wait... it's not a spoof?
People were actually trying to make a serious show? Then why does none of it make any sense?
Well I give it 10/10 for the ingenuity it took for a C+ grade 9 english student to write and produce a whole series on a budget of $17 and a tanning salon punch card.

I finished five episodes and it feels like a chore to watch anymore. I want to like this show. The idea is there but thats it. The characters are unlikable. The plot is vague. Its as if this is season three rather than season one. I love the actors but thats about it. You can't act your way out of a poor script.
Akin to the generic title which can embody a multitude of associations, this movie embodied storytelling tricks that have been done many times over. The only real unique element is the concept and that can keep a movie above water sometimes. This movie didn't quite hit that mark though like The Purge. What could've benefitted is contemplating or exemplifying what the long-term repercussions of this pandemic entails. I'd be curious to see a flashforward to the year 2100 for example where the world population is in the thousands as a bunch of old people question their mortality. Could've been cool. Overall, it wasn't strong but it wasn't flagrantly bad.
They took an interesting concept, some decent actors, some HORRIBLE actors and just some of the worst writing, threw in some plot holes and major misogyny and wasted my time. I kept fast forwarding hoping for something to spark. Then I realized there wasn't going to be anything better. How, how did something this terrible make it? I went back to the Utopia show.

Not good. I love sci fi and I'm fine with time travel. This was absolutely garbage plot, writing and acting. 45 minutes I'll never get back. If you want to watch a series about time travel watch Travelers. Much more engaging.

I wonder how come this even get approved as a script!? The lamest acting with pathetic dialogs and story.
This could've been a really good two hour movie. Instead it's filled with stupid dialogue time filler.
The female characters having nothing of substance to add. They are whiny, boring, and have no real part to play except talking about men. It's 2020, let's start writing capable, strong females characters!
Oh yeah, and the writing/acting is awful.

Ok. I gave this the old college try. I managed to make it through the first episode with an equal number of out loud guffawing and head scratching moments.
Conceptually, on paper, in theory this is pretty cool and should work. It's too bad the concept was the only interesting thing in execution. Jesus, Mary and Joseph the writing, the acting.....Oh did I mention the writing? Holy whole herd of cows. It's not good. Really not good.
The classroom scene in episode two was so bad I blushed. Really. Full facial flushing. I kind of panicked a bit thinking I was having a stoke and a heart attack. Then I realized I was just embarrassed at what I was watching. Feeling I had to do something in response, I turned on light in the TV room. As if more light would make it better. It. Did. Not.
When I started fantasizing about the end of the world as a legitimate reason to stop watching, I gave up and turned it off.
I wanted to like it. I wanted to watch it. But I couldn't.
My mothers go to compliment in situations calling for a compliment, but where no compliment is readily obvious, always has something to do with having lovely hair.
You have heard "the bigger the hair, the closer to Jesus?" The bigger, and softer, and shinier and bouncier my mothers compliment, the more she's tying to cover up a bald spot where something good is supposed to be.
To that, Dystopia has really, really, lovely hair. A big bouffant of lovely hair. Piled high and held in place with three cans of Aqua-net, lovey hair.

Its kind of dr w.h.o esque. only for 14 yr old boys who like watching trashy women getting 'the stick'. this series has potential. the premise is absurd but they pull it off with a kind of sincerity. but the actresses hired to play along the leads, seam to have been chosen for their capacity to portray brain damaged crack users, who love to party. it is the straw that broke it for me. cant help but wonder of the casting couch got a work out with this one.. cause acting wasn't the main concern.. LOOKS low budget, and i like the exploration of our society from a future vantage point. a society of the wendigo
Already covered by other reviews. But the vast majority of the actors in Dystopia are lacking in basic acting attributes. I am not sure if its just an unfortunate conglomerate of sub standard performances or if it's a group given very little to work with in terms of quality dialogue. There is no doubt that a lot of effort was put into trying to a good job of what at it's core is a decent idea and I found myself warming to a couple of characters. But as mentioned by other reviews, the script is full of bizarre plotholes and time/space contradictions that even the biggest sci fi geek would have found to be baffling. And not in the thought provoking clever way. Some of decisions in direction were just odd. It's a hard watch and felt as if it was done on a shoestring budget. Made it to the end, which was underwhelming. The only reason it has made it up to a 3 is because I got the sense that everyone was trying their hardest and I hoped the decent idea would come good in the end, with a diamond in the rough conclusion. It never came. So it's a 3 purely for effort.

I saw the reviews here before watching but decided to take a chance. I thought the script and plot were good. But, the show was completely ruined by the acting, editing, directing. The acting was soooooo bad at points (adult Trevor for one) that I actually found myself laughing.
With more money, better production, AND actors, this could have been a pretty good show.
