Scary life in American backcountry

The film itself is beautifully shot and two leads are very good. But what I like the most about it is the background, not just the natural settings (which is beautiful and scary as this film), but what's hidden in it. During the whole film something is missing and on the end you realize that you don't want to see all that lies behind and all that can be found. But you get the glimpse of it. And that's done very good. Pensive, intelligent film.

Incredible Score

Worth watching for the music alone. The film is really slow but the acting is great and the music is GREAT.

Empty shell

Sometimes a minimalist means reduced in form in order to better reveal a true meaning...not here. This one is reduced to nothing. Over-expression of form over substance or thought. And, yes, it seems nowadays unavoidable shilling and fake reviews.

Great stay in Friday night movie

I came across this movie with my girlfriend and thought it looked pretty decent. After we watched it we were both pretty blown away and surprised we had never heard of it before. We didn't know anyone in the cast but like that fact as it seems more "real". The two leads did a tremendous job and would love to see more of their work. We've now shown the movie to multiple family members and get near identical reactions. its our little hidden gem movie recommendation. If you haven't seen it I say it should be the next movie you rent!

Very creative

Excellent movie that keeps your attention throughout; it's not obvious where the story line is headed and it kept me guessing. Beautiful cinematography involving both indoor and natural outdoor settings. There is not a ton of dialogue and I didn't miss it -- the story is told well without it. I was impressed by the lead actors.

Nicely shot story

This film looks beautiful and sounds amazing. The story is good and not one of those "I knew it" plots. Keeps your attention for the entire time. The acting is right up there and the film can carry its own against much of the stuff coming from the west coast these days. Great to see and Indy project that shows professionalism throughout.

Loved this!

Loved this! My roommate and I caught a pre-screening of Loud Places and were pretty captivated by it. It captures so many different kinds of relationships and emotions in plot line that keeps deepening throughout. The direction/filming were amazing and the cast had tremendous chemistry on screen. I highly recommend this!

Visuals, Acting, and Storyline On Point

I was curious about this movie after I read that it was filmed in New Hampshire (I'm a native), so my boyfriend and I cued it up one Friday night, and I have to say, it did not disappoint. I was first struck by how visually stunning it is. It's filled with some amazing shots that really put the lushness and beauty of NH in summertime on display, but reveal sparseness and decay at the same time. Then the sound, acting, and uneasy storyline kicked in to pull me in even further -- everything was tuned perfectly to enhance everything else. A lot about this movie has stuck with me since I watched it about a week ago, I'd definitely give it a watch to see how it settles with you!

Must See

After reading about this film a number of months ago, I finally had a chance to watch it over the holiday break. The first thing that stood out to me was how expertly this film was written. The well-crafted dialogue coupled with a number of unexpected twists really enveloped me into the world of our characters. As an avid fan of independent cinema, this film checks all the boxes of a great piece of cinematic excellence. From captivating on screen performances to the equally stunning cinematography, Loud Places has me anxiously awaiting the director's next film!

Beautiful

I came across this movie because a friend recommended it. I'm really into independent films and this one certainly delivers. The look grabs your attention and the acting draws you closer. Every aspect, from the location and visuals, to the music and performances, adds to an uneasy mood that keeps you on edge. Watch it then recommend it to a friend because after you see it you'll want to talk about it.

Compelling film, well done

Wow. What a good movie. It tells the story of two loners who meet under violent circumstances and form a bond. It's a good story that has some shocking moments along the way.

The acting was excellent, as was everything else about this film. Very smooth watching, which is all I ask of any film.

Beautiful Film - Highly Recommended

The first takeaway of this film is how incredibly beautiful it is. Every shot is stunning. Growing up in a small, rural town, the complex struggles of the characters felt authentic, while the landscape played an important piece of the story. I was definitely pulled in to this world and cared about the characters. Recommended!

visually stunning piece of work

This movie is visually stunning. It is an homage to indie thrillers with its pacing, unpredictability and fearlessness. The actors really commit to their storytelling -- which makes this piece absolutely chilling at times. Indie gems like this can be hard to come by, and I hope Loud Places gets the attention it deserves. The brilliant cinematography is reminiscent of that golden era of indies from the early 2000's. Worth a watch on a hot summer night, or any night for that matter.
