Loved loved loved it!! I am not a fan of Melissa George, esp with her view on Australia, but the guys are so great and she is actually great in this too. The relationships in this series are just inspirational, they make you want better for you and your friends and your family, and even strangers. . Only just got going as a series and it's gone. I want it back!! Please bring it back somebody!
Dr. Alexandra Panttiere (Melissa George) is a rebellious heart surgeon in St. Matthew's Hospital. Dr. Pierce Harrison (Dave Annable) is her boyfriend. Dr. Jesse Shane (Don Hany) is her long time crush. Max is her gay ex-husband with her kids. Millicent Silvano (Shelley Conn) is her suffering boss trying to keep her out of trouble. Dr. Callahan (Jamie Kennedy) is the sleazy womanizer and nurse Ji-Sung struggles to keep from falling for him.
This show tries so hard to do so many different things. It's trying too hard to be wacky. As a medical show, it has the serious side. On top of everything, it's trying desperately to be 'Grey's Anatomy'. I would prefer it does less of the silly stuff. They mostly come off as stupid. It's different from being fun. I wish the best for Melissa George but the show has saddled her with too many connected characters. It's as if the showrunners figured more is better. This could have been one more functional medical show but it's juggling with too many balls in the air.

OK.. so it takes them all of eight episodes into the series to get to the real 'heart' of her personal story... and where it goes from here, we'll just have to wait see if it winds up to be anti-climatic. Have to give the production a bit of credit though.. it started off pretty routine, not so much different than a whole slew of similar medical-drama offerings ... but working it's way through the lead character's recent life history to get to this point, it did generate increasing interest.
Should it proceed the way it's now looking, the audience will be polarized.. as not many mainstream story lines fade to black with a three-way permanent relationship. The cast is solid.. and the story appears as if it will hold up through the ten episode season. Will there be any more? Viewers liking it much more than early critics, and George does a lot to try and pull it through. Guess the final couple episodes might hint at an answer.... (gets-cancelled).
Should the professional critics get an opportunity to rewrite their comments, it would be interesting to see how they now compare. PS... and as for trying to 'love' and have sex with two people at the same time... yea right!!! ... just see how well in 'real-life' that goes over on your partner/ spouse.

If you appreciated the rebellious act that Hugh Laurie gave in House, MD then this show is for you, it has the same amount of rebellion, just toned down a lot. Despite what the critics and audience say if you give it a chance to evolve and explain itself the more you will like it. It's filled with interesting medical cases that at times take drastic turns, but these plot twists will make sense towards the end. It's a show that helps define girl power in the medical field, it has the right amount of dose of humor and sarcasm. Showing you that at times you have to break the rules and take chances even if it means there is a small chance that everything will be okay, or in this case, that everyone will survive. NBC already has two medical shows, both holding their own, both giving us the right amount of drama and blood, and characters to get hooked on, like this show does too. You can easily add this one onto the list of medical t.v dramas you don't mind watching. With just the right amount of silver linings, humor, sarcasm, medical talk, cases, and procedures, and a big giant amount of sticking the middle finger at authority. It is a light hearted medical drama that keeps you watching and wanting more.
Love this show! Why is it canceled? It's hard to create a special character, you have one now. Season 2 please!!!!!!
