If you are interested in what Burning Man or other "arts festivals" are like, this will give some insight. Hint: people use drugs and deliberately behave in odd ways. This film tries to present the mental and emotional states of people in such an environment, which must have "seemed like a good idea at the time," but the result is a bit messy. People in this film wander around confused and so is the audience. It is hard to know what to think of feel because everything seems so random. These people are trying to "find themselves" but that's hard to do when you are on psychoactive drugs and everyone around you seems to be an amateur psychologist who wants to include you in their own silly form of group therapy. This film demonstrates that the dividing line between having profound insights, and acting like a jackass, is very thin. It's supposed to be about love and sex but it's really about LSD.

As his and susan buice's debut "Four Eyed Monsters" in 2005 - still one of my favorites - arin crumleys second feature MOOP centers around relationships. An intense journey taking place in the desert, where earth and stars meet each other a lot in this movie. The emotional editing got me, and the special, mostly handheld camera is very close and sometimes in weird positions; but making sense all the time. Especially given the circumstances that the movie was shot over several years at the burning man festival (and some other places). The score and and the cast are amazing and what most excites me most is this meditative style: you get lost and find yourself again, a little different to what you were before, just like the cast in the film does. Saw it on the Intern. Filmfest Oldenburg, Indie-Highlight for me, highly recommended.

I believe this film to be cinema's embodiment of the emperor's New clothes.

Wow, this was pathetic. The dialogue is stilted, the acting cringeworthy and the plot about as unoriginal as they come.

I love the themes in this film. I like its inquisitive nature, and the exploration of what is love through art and a desert scape. This film has nothing to do with Burning Man gratefully. It is a mind opening experience to watch it and immerse yourself intoA fantasy world that is all too real when the lines blurred between drama and documentary. I found it very moving and the music was gorgeous.
