The Egan Murders

Having grown up in Northern New York, I was very familiar with this story. And having attended school with one of the authors, I fully appreciated their dedication in revisiting this sordid tale of the North Country. This film brings their well-written investigation to the screen in a coherent and interesting fashion. There is no spoiler to divulge here, as the title of the film takes care of that. The 3 Eagan's received "justice" in the terms that they could understand. But figuring out just "who dun it" would be a real problem. A lot of people had their reasons for wanting them dead, but to solve it - there was the dilemma. The police knew When, Where & How, but the Why and Who would prove difficult to measure. This is a great tale to follow in an easily understood presentation. Considering the budget constrictions on a private undertaking such as this, I don't know how it could have been better done. Yes, there are a couple of very minor goofs, but probably not noticeable to anyone not familiar with the crime itself or the geography of the area. This film is a must see for mystery enthusiasts and crime buffs. I highly recommend.
