Scooby-Doo! Moon Monster Madness (2015)

A billionaire plans to take some experts into space but five "normal" people also get picked for the trip and sure enough it's Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Fred and Daphnie. Once up in space everything seems to be going as planned but soon they run into an evil alien.

The latest direct-to-video Scooby-Doo movie is yet another very disappointing one. Even though it pays homage to ALIEN, THE RIGHT STUFF and even E.T., the overall feel is just downright flat and boring. By the twenty-minute mark things were already moving at a snail's pace and sadly things never really picked up despite some great animation. There's no question that the screenplay is to blame here as we're really not given anything funny, mysterious or even remotely fun.

This includes a very predictable screenplay that opens with Daphnie failing a driver's test and you know this here is just setting up a certain ending. Even worse is that the alien itself really isn't all that entertaining and I'd argue that the design wasn't all that impressive. Another problem with the film is that the jokes are all rather lame and especially the stuff dealing with Fred putting his foot into his mouth when it comes to two elderly men on the spaceship.

All in all, SCOOBY-DOO! MOON MONSTER MADNESS is a real letdown that has very little going for it.

Can you scream "Jumping the Shark!" at the top of your lungs? It feels like they are jumping the shark on this.

Actually, no, it feels a bit like it's trying to be the Animaniacs. A lot of the jokes, a ,lot of the references, a lot of the parodies seemed like they came out of the Animaniacs.

The only thing is, the Animaniacs could have taken them to the next level and made them funny as where Scooby Doo is too grounded in Scooby Doo humor to make things like the Ellen Ripley spoof anything but annoying.

At least there are a few decent jokes at Fred's expense and those are always worth while.

But the Enter the Dragon Daphne seems retconned away to the vapid arm candy of old...and in the most humorless of possible ways.

All in all, this installment fails miserably. Possibly the worst Scooby Doo movie to date.

The Scooby Doo franchise was started in the 70s and created persona and atmosphere that all Scooby Doo movies and TV shows should live up too. Over the years the TV shows have changed a little and become more modern, but this movie forgets the entire Scooby Doo legacy. It is just like a few of the new and "improved" Scooby Doo TV shows. Its like the writers and director never even watched the other scooby doo movies. The atmosphere that the good TV shows and movies portray are gone. The heart and soul of Scooby Doo is nowhere in this new movie. It is a totally and utterly bad Scooby Doo movie. BRING BACK THE HEART OF SCOOBY DOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!stop making these so called improved movies. If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT!!!!!

Scooby and the Mystery Inc. Take it to the space with astronaut suits and space shuttles and a moon monster mystery to be solved, besides a below average story this movie in some way turns out to be an actually nice movie, I mean the makers have made some kind of mark in this movie so that it turns out pretty good . And to point it out : are the jokes , some jokes are really funny in this movie.

I actually found this movie enjoyable. Sure it's not the best but it's not awful. I thought I would hate because they would be stuck in space but they added onto the story well. The voice acting was great and the story was nice. The side characters were alright, nothing special. I knew who the bad guy was right from the start. Overall, it's good but would I watch it again, probably not for a long time.
