Musician Soulja Boy was arrested at a traffic stop in Los Angeles on August 3. He was arrested at 2:50 a.m. on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was later booked at 6:18 a.m. on a felony charge.
Soulja Boy had been a passenger in a car that was pulled over during an early morning traffic stop at Melrose and Genesee. It is unclear why the police pulled the vehicle over in the first place, but following a seemingly unprompted search of the car, officers found a firearm.
Soulja Boy celebrated his 35th birthday on August 2, as evidenced by footage shared on his Instagram stories. He premiered his new music on a Twitch stream earlier that afternoon, in connection with his last album, The Influence, which dropped in February.
