Eyes of Wakanda has just premiered on Disney+, and it changes everything we thought we knew about Marvel Studios' Black Panther franchise.
The series follows multiple characters throughout history as they attempt to retrieve and return powerful artefacts to the isolationist nation of Wakanda. In the finale (which is set in 1896), we're introduced to a Black Panther from 500 years in the future, played by Anika Noni Rose.
The future Queen of Wakanda has travelled back in time because Wakanda and the world have fallen to the alien Horde. She warns Prince Tafari and Kuda that the Vibranium axe they've tracked down must not be returned to her home. By leaving the axe out in the world, it will one day be stolen by Erik Killmonger, drawing T'Challa out from the shadows and ultimately leading to Wakanda revealing itself to the world.

Over the last two years, Marvel’s television slate faced a whole lot of shifting, followed by an entire revamping of its structure, and it seems to have finally found its groove. And there’s still quite a few shows on the horizon.
According to Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum, the studio is now “thinking about television really more like traditional television” — which in some cases means multiple seasons. “Loki,” “Daredevil: Born Again” and “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” are so far the only series to get more than one, though Winderbaum offered hope for “Agatha All Along” and “Hawkeye.”
In the meantime, it’s hard for anyone to keep track of all these series in their head. So, we went ahead and compiled a list for you of every confirmed Marvel TV show currently in the works to premiere on Disney+.

This Friday, Marvel Studios/Marvel Animation releases all four episodes of Eyes of Wakanda, a Black Panther prequel series set in the McU's distant past.
While there's a lot of excitement to see the world of Wakanda expand with this story about the Hatut Zaraze, easily the most intriguing part of the show is Marvel Studios' plan to introduce a new, female Iron Fist (generations before Danny Rand inherits the mantle).
We still don't have a name for the Iron Fist who was first spotted in a new trailer and character poster released yesterday, but Jona Xiao is now confirmed to be voicing the character in Eyes of Wakanda.
The actor broke the news on Instagram, writing, "So stoked to reveal I’m playing the MCU’s 1st ever female Iron Fist! Catch Marvel's 'Eyes of Wakanda,' dropping on Disney+ August 1st!"

Following its exciting unveiling at Annecy International Animation Festival last month, Marvel Animation's Eyes of Wakanda will be available for fans to enjoy on Disney+ earlier than anticipated.
As we first reported last week, the all-new series, consisting of four episodes, will debut on August 1. Joining the official announcement are a jaw-dropping new trailer and set of character posters, one of which introduces us to the McU's first Iron Fist.
Finn Jones played Danny Rand in Netflix's Iron Fist TV series, but this marks the first time we've seen a protector of K'un-Lun on the "Sacred Timeline," a.k.a. Earth 616.
The new action-adventure series, produced in partnership with Proximity Media's Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Kalia King, follows the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history. In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artefacts from the enemies of Wakanda.

Marvel's Eyes of Wakanda animated spin-off anthology series will be taking viewers back to the titular nation much sooner than expected. In an exclusive conversation with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Todd Harris confirmed that all four episodes, which were originally set to premiere on August 27, will now arrive on Disney+ on August 1. It's a big shock considering the team hasn't gotten a ton of chances to speak out about the project, and all that's been seen so far is a short teaser. Moreover, the news is a nice update to tide fans over since Marvel decided to skip San Diego Comic-Con this year.

Marvel Animation has shared new details and stills for two of its most highly anticipated TV shows, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Eyes of Wakanda.
The former, according to the official plot synopsis, "is an animated series that follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with a journey unlike we've ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots."
We also have a confirmed cast list: Hudson Thames, Colman Domingo, Eugene Byrd, Grace Song, Zeno Robinson, Hugh Dancy, and Charlie Cox. No character details are provided, though we've heard that Thames is Spider-Man, Domingo is Norman Osborn and, well, Cox is obviously returning as Daredevil.
As for Dancy, rumour has it the Hannibal star is playing Doctor Octopus. That's a fantastic casting decision and one we're sure many of you would like to see carry over into live-action.
More has been revealed about Eyes of Wakanda,...

Hollywood is currently experiencing strikes by both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA due to disagreements with the AMPTP, with major issues including streaming residuals and the use of artificial intelligence. The strikes have had a significant impact on San Diego Comic-Con, as affected members are unable to promote their work affiliated with the AMPTP, but are still using the platform to educate fans about the strike and address concerns about AI in entertainment. AI poses a major threat to the voice acting industry, as it has the ability to create synthetic voices that sound exactly like a voice actor, without their knowledge or consent, thereby potentially displacing workers. Regulation, consent, and transparency are key solutions being discussed by SAG-AFTRA and Nava to protect performers in the industry.

The perils of artificial intelligence to the entertainment industry came to San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, with SAG-AFTRA national executive director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland joining a panel of voice actors organized by Nava, the National Association of Voice Actors, to discuss the specific hazards AI is already posing to the profession.
“We’ve got to reject the idea that this is just something that’s going to happen to us and we can’t say anything about it,” Crabtree-Ireland said at the outset of the panel, about whether AI could devastate the entertainment industry. “I think it definitely could, the question is whether we’re going to let that happen.”
Along with Crabtree-Ireland and moderator and Nava board member Linsay Rousseau (“God of War: Ragnarok”), the panel, which played to a standing-room only audience, consisted of Ashly Burch (“Mythic Quest”), Cissy Jones (“The Owl House”), SAG-AFTRA negotiating committee member Zeke Alton...

Like the WGA before it, one of the main reasons SAG-AFTRA went on strike was a series of disagreements about artificial intelligence technology. But, according to some SAG members, the key to reaching an agreement on this issue is simple: “real consent.”
As a sign of how seriously SAG-AFTRA takes the matter, lead negotiator in studio talks Duncan Crabtree-Ireland joined a San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday to explain it alongside fellow SAG members and members of the National Association of Voice Actors (Nava) Zeke Alton, Tim Friedlander, Ashly Burch and Cissy Jones.
“There’s active consent versus passive consent,” Alton, whose work includes the “Call of Duty” and “Diablo” video game franchises, said. “We want active consent.”
“Passive consent is when a company will bury in their terms of agreement, or page 27 of a 30-page contract, something [important],” Jones explained. “We want to make sure that it’s something you actually read,...

SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director and chief negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland was at Comic-Con on Friday, joining voice-over actors to talk about the threat of AI in their profession for the National Association of Voiceover Actors panel “AI in Entertainment: The Performer’s Perspective Panel.”
“AI is implemented voluntarily by these big corporations, and people need to hold them accountable,” said Crabtree-Ireland. “We don’t accept the premise that we do what they say.”
“AI can be implemented in a human-centric way instead of breaking them down,” he added.
While voice-over actors can engage in video game work during the current strike, they can’t do voice-overs for features films, TV shows and trailers of struck companies.
If anyone wants to know how AI voice-over actors are affected, it was in the testimony of Cissy Jones’ (Transformers Earthrise) today. She expressed grave concern about “public fan mods,” whereby fans use a celebrity...

SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland will be at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday as a panelist on the National Association of Voice Actors’ session “AI in Entertainment: The Performers’ Perspective.”
Crabtree-Ireland will join moderator Linsay Rousseau (Transformers: War for Cybertron) and panelists Ashly Burch (Mythic Quest), Cissy Jones (The Owl House), SAG/AFTRA negotiating committee member Zeke Alton (The Calisto Protocol) and Nava president and founder Tim Friedlander (Record of Ragnarok) to discuss the existing legal structures in regards to AI and the new standards that need to be implemented that will protect voiceover actors.
While the AMPTP heralded a “groundbreaking” proposal they made to SAG-AFTRA in regards to AI, the actors guild wasn’t happy, with Crabtree-Ireland telling press recently that both sides were “pretty far apart” and that a lot was still required to protect background actors from getting their likeness and images protected.
