- The first plaque placed in Yankee Stadium's Memorial Park was dedicated to Huggins on 30 May 1932.
- Played for the Cincinnati Reds (1904-1909), and the St. Louis Cardinals (1910-1916).
- Graduated from the University of Cincinnati School of Law. One of his professors, William Howard Taft, advised him to play baseball after Huggins realized that he could make more money playing baseball than practicing law. Although Huggins was admitted to the bar, he never did practice law.
- Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Veterans Committee in 1964.
- Managed the Cardinals (1913-1917), and New York Yankees (1918-1929). Died 5 days after stepping down as the Yankees' manager.
