The video game adaptation Five Nights at Freddy’s (read our review Here) quickly became Blumhouse Productions’ highest-grossing movie when it reached theatres and the Peacock streaming service, surpassing the likes of Split, The Invisible Man, The Black Phone, M3GAN, the recent Halloween sequel trilogy, and the Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and The Purge franchises with its haul of $295 million. Freddy Fazbear brought the frights to San Diego Comic-Con during Universal Pictures and Blumhouse’s Hall H panel for “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2,” the sequel to the successful 2023 horror game adaptation.

The panel came hours after the film’s trailer was released, revealing the revenge plans of the first film’s murderous animatronic robots.

In a conversation moderated by Juju “Straw Hat Goofy” Green, director Emma Tammi (who also helmed the first film) teased that the upcoming movie features “more than three times as many animatronics” as the first film. She praised collaboration with the Jim Henson Company for the film’s robots, adding, “We we really wanted to make the electronics feel and move as practically as possibly, versus the CG route, which is also incredible, but it just didn’t feel right for the nostalgia that Freddy’s invokes. We met with the Henson team, and they totally got that.

Ready for round two? Freddy Fazbear and his maniacal gang of animatronic pals are back to play and slay and they’re bringing with them Freddy Carter Blumhouse/Universal’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

The Masters of the Air thespian’s casting was confirmed today in a clip shown during the pic’s Hall H San Diego Comic-Con presentation.

Fans have speculated that Carter will play Jeremy Fitzgerald, who is the former security guard from the second game. In the clip, Carter’s character, an eerie security guard dude, gives a tour to a young teens of the spooky animatronic characters in the pizza place.

The sequel follows the aftermath of William Afton (Lillard) being exposed as a serial killer, which left him spring-locked and mangled inside the Bonnie suit. Mike (Hutcherson) and Vanessa (Lail), are now on the hunt.

In 2023, Blumhouse adapted the popular video game Five Nights at Freddy's to the big screen. Released in theaters on October 27, 2023, simultaneously with its streaming release on Peacock, Five Nights at Freddy's was a smash success and became the highest-grossing horror film of the year.

Although it was a commercial hit, the adaptation received generally negative reviews from critics. However, audiences loved it, so Blumhouse hurried to greenlight a sequel. Set to hit theaters later this year, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has just unveiled the official trailer, which can be seen below.

The logline for the sequel reads, "They’re not just at Freddy’s anymore."

The sequel unveiled its first teaser in early April and received positive responses from audiences. Universal and Blumhouse are making the dreams of Scream fans everywhere come true today by announcing that Skeet Ulrich will reteam with his on-screen bestie, Matthew Lillard, for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. The news comes on the morning of the movie’s big panel at Sdcc and was paired with the official trailer debut, so we can’t wait to see what other tricks and treats they have in store for those in attendance at the yearly gathering. The announcement marks a major horror icon reunion, as Ulrich and Lillard previously appeared alongside one another in Wes Craven’s 1996 feature, Scream — the movie that would start a franchise. As of right now, it isn’t clear which character Ulrich will be joining as, but perhaps we’ll find out more later today.

The big reveal comes after months of speculation that Ulrich would appear in the eagerly-anticipated sequel in one way or another.

Done right as a standalone movie like 12 Years A Slave, or a miniseries like the iconic Roots or Bet's more recent The Book of Negroes, it can create a difficult but incredibly cathartic short-term experience. Early in the premiere of Wgn America's slave-revolt drama Underground, a captured runaway named Noah (Aldis Hodge) is shoved into a decrepit shed on a plantation in rural Georgia. The year is 1857; the Civil War is still four long years away. The camera whips around 360 degrees from Noah's point of view, catching glimpses of sick, malnourished black men and women, all of them shivering in makeshift bunks and slumped against unforgiving walls. And though he does not say a word, the sequence immediately establishes Noah as the show's determined protagonist.

Wgn America released a new teaser for its upcoming Underground Railroad drama “Underground” on Monday. In the promo, slaves pick cotton in the fields. But one slave stealthily draws a pistol from his waistband as a narrator says, “When we run, ain’t no white man gonna be able to stop us.” Wgn also released a new series of character posters for the show, featuring stars Mykelti Williamson, Adina Porter, Marc Blucas, and Theodus Crane among others. This Saturday and Sunday, April 20 and 21, a new comics and pop culture convention will debut in Washington, DC: Awesome Con! I’m super-excited about this, given that there hasn’t been a comic con in DC proper in lo, these many years since I have lived here. Okay, okay, maybe I exaggerate a bit. As it happens, there was a comic con here as recently as 2005. But it’s still been quite awhile. There are comic cons in the general area, yes, like the excellent Baltimore Comic Con, as well as cons in Richmond, and Annapolis; but for those of us who are Metro-dependent, those cons are not so easy to get to.

Now, finally, we’re getting a con right in the city, at the Washington Convention Center, a three minute walk from the Mt. Vernon Square metro station (or 11 minutes from McPherson Square or Metro Center stations, for orange/blue line folks). Yay!

Even though last night’s “Sick” felt awfully similar to the Season 2 chapter, “Nebraska,” The Walking Dead kept its string of fast-paced and balanced episodes going strong, dealing with five new survivors–inmates of the prison that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the group stormed in the Season 3 premiere.

We’ll recall in “Nebraska” Rick, Hershel (Scott Wilson), and Glenn (Steven Yeun) meet up with two fowl fellows in a bar who describe the situation outside of Georgia, but also prove to be threats. Quick on the draw, Rick exercised hard choices and kills both men, fearing they would hurt the others at the farm house. He felt the threat in their words and actions. Rick and the others were being backed into a corner and no one puts Rick Grimes in a corner.

Last week’s The Walking Dead season premiere saw Rick and co. finding a seemingly safe haven in a nearby prison. “Sick” begins from where “Seed” left us: The group has to find a way to deal with Hershell’s zombie bite and abundant loss of blood – along with the arrival of some unexpected guests. While not as strong as the season opener, “Sick” has three memorable moments that can easily enter the pantheon of the show’s greatest hits, thus offering further evidence, the series has found more secure footing this year.

It was quite a stretch to have us believe that five guys locked inside a prison cafeteria for ten months, amidst thousands of zombies, wouldn’t ever have considered that the crisis had become widespread.

If you haven't watched last night's Season 3 premiere of "The Walking Dead" yet, then you'll want to skip this story. If you have, then you're probably wondering who the hell that was in the final scene. Read on for all the details along with the show's incredible ratings results!

“This group of prisoners saw the outbreak happen in their prison almost a year ago, and guards were turning on prisoners and prisoners were tuning on guards,” says Mazzara. “Imagine a zombie movie set in a prison. These are the sole survivors of that movie. And they’ve been locked up with each other for almost a year, and now suddenly...

It was an episode filled with thrills, chills, and an ungodly amount of kills. And there was one final surprise awaiting our not-so-merry band of survivors in the very last shot.
