This year's MTV Video Music Awards will feature an eclectic group of performers when LL Cool J returns to host the 2025 shindig on CBS from New York's Ubs Arena.

American singer Sean Kingston has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison after being found guilty of a $1 million fraud scheme, where he used his name and fame to purchase luxury items without ever paying for any of them.

Back in July 2024, both Kingston and his mother, Janice Eleanor Turner, were indicted on one count each of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts each of wire fraud. As per the U.S. Attorney’s Office,

The defendants retained attempted to retain the vehicles, jewelry and other goods despite non-payment. Through the execution of this scheme, the defendants obtained in excess of $1 million in property.

The mother-son duo was convicted of all charges in March 2025, and the singer was sent on house arrest with electronic monitoring as he awaited his sentence. He was also ordered to post a surety bond of his $500,000 home and $200,000 in cash.

The 42-year-old rapper took to Twitter on Friday (August 15) to comment on her newfound appreciation of Lana, 40, amid the singer’s feud with Ethel Cain.

The feud took the internet by storm this week after Lana posted a snippet of an unreleased track from her upcoming album. The opening lyric from the song, rumored to be titled “All About Ethel,” immediately caught fans’ attention: “Ethel Cain hated my Instagram post / Thinks it’s cute reenacting my Chicago pose.”

Nicki can’t get the song out of her head and she called Lana “brilliant” in an X Spaces chat.

It wasn’t just her crying that took fans by surprise, but the singer appeared to have written an X-rated caption on top of her photo.

Clearly, the two didn’t go together at all as the caption read, “Who ate all the p*ssy?” We have no clue what she meant by the photo or the comment, but our best guess could be that she was taking a sarcastic jab at her haters. On Sunday, August 3, the British singer — known for singing “Bang Bang” with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj — took to her Instagram Stories with photos from a hospital bed. “How I spent the last 24 hours,” she captioned a photo of an IV in her arm. “6 weeks post surgery and I was back in the same ward I was after my surgery. Nicki Minaj has escalated her financial feud with Jay Z with claims that the music producer owes her upwards of $200 million from her equity in Tidal, a music streaming service. Following Tidal’s 2015 launch, 15 artists were gifted a 3% stake in the company, but Minaj claims she was only offered $1 million after the company was sold to Jack Dorsey‘s Square for $302 million in 2021.

Charli Xcx doesn’t just play herself on Prime Video’s “Overcompensating,” as the show’s executive producer and music producer on the show, she was deeply involved in working behind the scenes in helping the music flow throughout the eight-part series.

Speaking at a guild FYC, music supervisors Jen Malone and Nicole Weisberg discussed how the “Boom Clap” singer made their job easier, but also how her involvement helped artists license their music.

Weisberg said, “We went into embracing ourselves for challenges ahead. But she was really involved. She was on spotting sessions, she was part of the composing team, and she was giving edit notes on where the score should come in and where it should come out.”

Now, Victoria has teamed up with Michael Tully, the writer/director of the comedy Ping Pong Summer and the horror thriller Don’t Leave Home, to adapt the story of Mr. Sandman into the screenplay for a horror movie called Eye for an Eye, which stars Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and is set to receive a theatrical and VOD release next Friday, June 20th. Mazel, Bravosphere! As part of a new pact with NBCUniversal, Andy Cohen’s overall deal with the company has been extended for three years, and his nightly talk show on Bravo “Watch What Happens Live,” has been renewed for two more years.

“After more than 20 years with Bravo, I’m full of intense gratitude that I get to continue living out my dream here,” Cohen said in the announcement. “I’m excited to keep growing our successes across NBCUniversal’s incredible portfolio and, most of all, thankful that I, along with my team, get to keep doing what we love most.” The full press release is included below.

The 42-year-old rapper teased a surprise late Tuesday (June 10) and at midnight that night, a new remix of Lil Wayne‘s “Banned From No” with her featured was released.

This mark’s Nicki‘s first song since “All Girls Are the Same 2 (Insecure)” was released with the late Juice Wrld last November. Prior to that, she released Pink Friday 2 at the end of 2023. She then toured the world in support of the LP throughout 2024.

The 2025 BET Awards were underway Monday in Los Angeles, celebrating Black excellence across music, TV, film and sports. Kevin Hart hosted the ceremony, which took place at the Peacock Theater downtown and celebrated its 25th year.

Kendrick Lamar had a leading 10 nominations coming into tonight, winning four of his categories, including Album of the Year, Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Video of the Year. Doechii, Drake, Future and GloRilla followed with six nominations apiece, while Metro Boomin had five and Sza and The Weeknd had four each. Doechii and GloRilla clinched their first-ever BET wins tonight.

The show is still running after more than four and a half hours on Monday night (June 9) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Not all of the awards have been announced during the televised ceremony, but the complete list of winners was just revealed online thanks to THR.

Kendrick Lamar was top winner at the 2025 BET Awards, held in Los Angeles Monday night.

The rapper took home the awards for album of the year for Gnx, best male hip-hop artist, video of the year for “Not Like Us” and best collaboration alongside Sza for “Luther.” Lamar also shared the award for video director of the year with his longtime creative partner Dave Free.

Sza and Chris Brown won best female and male R&b/pop artists, respectively. Doechii also won the award for best female hip-hop artist. During the latter’s acceptance speech, the rapper called out President Donald Trump for the “ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order” amid protests against unlawful immigration raids in Los Angeles.

Other winners included Leon Thomas for best new artist, Denzel Washington for best actor and Cynthia Erivo for best actress.

Hosted by Kevin Hart, the BET Awards celebrated its 25th year on Monday with a three-hour ceremony honoring Black excellence in music, movies, sports and beyond.

Heading into Monday’s ceremony, Kendrick Lamar led the pack with 10 nominations, followed by Doechii, Drake, Future and GloRilla, each of whom netted six nominations.

Jessie J has revealed that she’s been diagnosed with “early breast cancer.”

The “Price Tag” singer shared the news in a Tuesday Instagram post where she said she received the diagnosis before releasing her new single “No Secrets” from her upcoming sixth studio album.
