A Way Out: Norwegian Film Student’s Science Fiction Thriller Thingy
Check out this cool Sci-Fi short film from 25 year-old Norwegian film student, Stian Hafstad. A recent assignment in Stian’s directing class required that they film a scene that was one continuous shot, without any dialogue. He says that he usually doesn’t post his assignments online because they’re either uninteresting, or they’re not self contained pieces, and don’t work outside of class context.

Since his latest assignment, what he calls a “Science Fiction Thriller thingy” entitled, A Way Out was both interesting and self-contained, he put it up on youtube for the world to see. Check it out below!

A Way Out – Science Fiction Short

For all you film students and/or Indie filmmakers that want to know, Stian shot the movie in his dorm room using a Canon T2i with the Canon Ef 28mm f/2.8 lens. He used three 300 watt lights, Blue gels. For the space-time-rift in the cabinet,...

2010 TromaDance Film Festival: Official Lineup
The TromaDance Film Festival has moved to the most toxic place on Earth for its 11th annual edition: New Jersey! That’s right, screw the snow! TromaDance has moved the hell out of Park City and will be making Asbury Park a little bit skeevier on April 16-17 with a grotesque abomination of a lineup of short films and features.

On the 16th, check out the dear ol’ uncle Lloyd Kaufman’s brutally hilarious, bloody and feces-tastically toe-tapping Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, a musical set in a fast food restaurant haunted by demonic spirits.

Then, on the 17th, its a gargantuan all-day affair of riotous and offensive short films from all over the world, plus a screening of Tom Six’s bizarro feature-length horror film The Human Centipede in which a mad doctor sews innocent victims together mouth-to-butt. Hey, whatever turns you on.

Plus, there’s panel discussions,...
