I’m not usually a horror movie guy, but I can handle a good slasher. Over the weekend, I watched the reboot “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” and it totally scratched that itch. I am such a fan of the filmmaking collective Radio Silence. They have demonstrated a mastery of the anthology format as well as feature-length fare. The group first came on our radar via a segment in the 2012 horror anthology V/H/S, and they’ve been at it ever since. Following their arrival on the scene, the collective went on to helm the brilliant horror comedy Ready or Not and the celebrated slasher sequels Scream (2022) and Scream VI.

The group originally started as a foursome, but is now a twosome comprised of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. Despite losing producers Chad Villella and Justin Martinez along the way, the collective has never ceased to impress.

Abigail, a more recent Radio Silence picture, recently made its way onto Prime Video, and that is more than enough reason to spend a moment championing this outlandish and undeniably gruesome effort.

Well, according to the movie’s scribe, Guy Busick, the answer is everything. Busick, who also penned the fifth and sixth installments, recently sat down with ComicBook and revealed the original plans for the highly-anticipated film — and it sounds like it was made without the return of Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott in mind.

With Scream 7 bringing back several characters from the dead, one franchise alum hopes to join in on the fun and see her character emerge from the afterlife. Scream 2 star Sarah Michelle Gellar hopes for another run in the titular slasher film series nearly 30 years after seeing others return from the dead for the next sequel.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Gellar expressed interest in seeing her character, Cici Cooper, appear in Scream 7 or a future sequel despite being one of Ghostface's many victims in the eponymous franchise. However, Gellar never got a call from creator Kevin Williamson or the Scream brass about a comeback. “I tried to get in Scream – nobody wanted me,” Gellar said. “They were bringing everybody back, I kept thinking I would get a call. Sarah Michelle Gellar is one of the new cast members of the upcoming Ready or Not 2. The highly anticipated sequel revealed its title, Ready or Not: Here I Come, recently.

The thriller horror Ready or Not came from Radio Silence, aka Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett. The movie was a massive critical and commercial success, and a sequel was announced to be in development in March 2024. Shortly after the cast and title announcement, Gellar confirmed during an appearance on the Today show that she is part of the upcoming sequel.

The appearance featured an unexpected Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunion, as Gellar joined forces with her former co-star Alyson Hannigan to discuss their partnership with Gsk for the Ask2BSure campaign to raise awareness of meningitis vaccinations. When asked about current projects, the hosts brought up the fact that Gellar arrived from Toronto, Canada, where the sequel is currently in production.

Though Scream 7 is closer to its anticipated release after being knee-deep into production, the fallout from the firing of Melissa Barrera still lingers over the titular slasher franchise. One of Scream's legacy stars is the latest to voice his displeasure with the handling of Barrera's exit, chalking up the decision to "100%...cancel culture."

Speaking with Fox News Digital, Kennedy expressed his anger with Barrera's 2023 firing from the Scream film series after her social media posts about the Israel-Hamas conflict. Today, Apple Original Films unveiled a second trailer and the new poster for Guy Ritchie’s upcoming Fountain of Youth movie, which will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on May 23, 2025.

Fountain of Youth follows two estranged siblings (John Krasinski and Natalie Portman) who partner on a global heist to find the mythological Fountain of Youth. They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure that will change their lives… and possibly lead to immortality.

If you're now scrambling to catch up with this third sequel that you either skipped or plain didn't know about prior to reading the last paragraph, a word of advice: don't bother. It's set in a different town and introduces a whole new group of characters who get stalked and offed by the hook-wielding Fisherman. Also, it's awful.
