Dav Pilkey

He got the name "Dav" from a situation that happened to him when he used to work as a waiter for a Pizza Hut. The employees of the Pizza Hut all had their name tags spelled out with an old fashion label maker. The label maker wasn't able to label out the letter "E" for names that contained the letter. So instead of having the name Dave on his name tag, it instead has Dav labeled on it. He soon decided to stick with the name ever since.
