Jigglypuff has a recurring gag in the Pokemon anime where it puts people to sleep and writes on their faces. In an episode of Sun & Moon, Jigglypuff encounters a Komala, a Pokemon that can react to its song while asleep. The episode reverses the gag, with Komala singing Jigglypuff's song back at it, putting Jigglypuff to sleep and drawing on its face.
One of the longest-running gags in the classic Pokémon anime is that of the recurring Jigglypuff, whose song puts everyone who hears it to sleep, prompting Jigglypuff to write on their faces with marker. However, one episode almost twenty years later took the classic gag and turned it on its head.
Jigglypuff followed Ash, Misty, and Brock throughout Kanto, the Orange Islands, and Johto, even appearing in one episode of Hoenn. Whenever it appeared, Jigglypuff would sing its song, and Jigglypuff's song would inevitably put all those present...

Regions play a big part of defining the Pokémon series, but the games don't always do a perfect job of rendering their settings in a way that makes sense. Earlier Pokémon titles all featured regions based on areas of Japan, while later entries have taken on a number of other cultural inspirations. Although the prevailing influence of one real-world environment can always be felt in a Pokémon region, certain elements can feel anatopic in a way that ultimately doesn't make complete sense.
It's not uncommon for Pokémon themselves to seem somewhat out of place in the region where they're first introduced. While many are perfectly at home in their environs — Alola, for example, features plenty of proper tropical island creatures — every game tends to have at least one or two major fish out of water situations. Although the fictionalized nature of the Pokémon world makes real-life incongruence negligible, it's still...

In the post-game of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, players will have an opportunity to challenge the fan-favorite Gym Leader Larry to a rematch at the Medali Gym. This will mark their third battle with Larry, who doubles as a member of Paldea's Elite Four using Flying-type Pokémon. However, Larry reinstates his former team of Normal-type monsters in his second gym battle with trainers, showcasing the true strength of his beloved Pokémon. Since their first battle in Medali, Gym Leader Larry's team has leveled up significantly, and trainers will need to call on strategies they used in previous battles against the seasoned gym leader in order to beat him again.
After defeating Larry as both a gym leader and a member of the Elite Four in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, players may not have high expectations for their third battle with the disgruntled Normal-type expert. However, Larry utilizes Pokémon and strategies from both...

During the Trainer protagonist's journey in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, players had to set out to defeat eight of Paldea's mighty Gym Leaders, an objective that serves as one of the central goals of the main campaign. While each individual will have their own preferences of who they thought was the best leader, there is no doubt that many fans will desire to face their favorite masters in a rematch battle. After all, many of the fights are exhilarating and an absolute joy to experience since every leader is brimming with personality. However, some Trainers might be sad to realize that they can not face their opponents for a second once the battle has concluded.
Fortunately, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet do offer a postgame method through which Trainers can rematch their favorite Gym Leaders of Paldea. As suggested by the term "postgame," players must complete the main storyline of the...

Pokémon has outdone itself with its latest release, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. The games bring a new, open world experience to the series. Now, players can challenge any of 18 different type-based challenges in whatever order they choose. This includes, of course, eight gym leaders.
The gym leaders in Scarlet & Violet are among the best in the series. They come with interesting techniques and strategies, including a final Pokémon that makes interesting use of the new Terastal mechanic. It's an improvement on most gym leaders that the series has had to offer, though including more held items like Sitrus Berries would have been nice to add an extra challenge.
Larry
Larry has one of the simplest names and designs in the history of the franchise. However, given that his gym is a Normal-type gym, that seems to have been what the games were going for.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet have been out for a few days, but some fans have already explored every corner of the Paldea region. The new games feature an open world full of possibilities, but they don't leave out one of the franchise's most famous and esteemed traditions: the Gym Challenge.
As always, players looking to become Paldea's new Champion must defeat the eight Gym Leaders and earn their badges. The challenge is considerable, testing the will and strength of each Trainer and their team. However, not every Gym Leader is the same, and while some are undeniably tough, others are a walk in the park.
Cortondo Gym: Bug-Type
It's no secret that Bug is the worst type in Pokémon. It has terrible average stats, with very few fully-evolved Bug-types making it past 450. Paldea's Bug-type Gym, located in Cortondo City, will surely be the first one players visit, and conquering it should be child's play.
