Filmax ha publicado el primer tráiler de la segunda entrega de Los futbolísimos, basada en la saga literaria infantil creada por Roberto Santiago con 25 títulos publicados y más de 5 millones de ejemplares vendidos.

En Los futbolísimos 2: El misterio del tesoro pirata, Pakete y sus compañeros del Soto Alto Fc forman una pandilla inseparable, pero el pacto de los futbolísimos peligra: una estafa inmobiliaria les ha dejado sin campo donde jugar y a su pueblo sumido en la ruina. Para seguir en la liga intercentros tendrán que ganar al equipo de Los Justos, unos rivales especialmente complicados, con una capitana un tanto “pirata” que les meterá en más de un lío. Atresplayer ha comenzado el rodaje en varias localizaciones de Madrid de Rafaela y su loco mundo, su nueva serie original, una comedia surrealista y disparatada, creada por Aníbal Gómez y basada en su propio libro, El alucinante mundo de Rafaella Mozarella.

Rafaela y su loco mundo sigue a Rafaela, una adolescente que vive en una familia altamente funcional: una madre ama de casa aficionada a los disfraces, un padre inventor con una máquina del tiempo, y su abuela. Con la compañía de sus amigas Corpus, Chelo y Debo, sin olvidar a su caniche, pasarán por situaciones que las harán madurar como grupo, como personas y como caniche, respectivamente. Organizers of the Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards on Friday presented 25 finalists as part of the Malaga Film Festival’s Mafiz-Spanish Screenings Content Animation Hub section.

The 25 works from seven countries will compete in 10 categories at the seventh edition of the Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards, taking place on May 11 in Tenerife.

Spain tops the list of countries with the most entries, 16, followed by Brazil with seven and Chile with three. Argentina, Mexico and Portugal are present with two nominations each, while Colombia has one nomination.

Leading with the most nominations are Spain’s “Robot Dreams,” by Pablo Berger, which is also competing for the best animated feature film Oscar, and the Brazilian short “Lulina e a Lua,” by Marcus Vinicius Vasconcelos and Alois Di Leo, with three each.

For some teenagers, it can feel like parental figures are the devil in human form. When all you want to do is be on your own with no rules, parents become enemy number one. Upon growing up and out of the teenage phase, it usually becomes clear, though, that, no, your parents were not Satan.

Except in the case of Stan. Stan is the main character on the adult animated show Poor Devil. He is your average 18-year-old, except for one key differentiator. His dad is the devil. Yes, you read that correctly. Stan’s father is the Satan. And he has high expectations of his son.

In Madrid for the launch of HBO Max in Spain, Andorra and four Nordic countries, Warner Media’s commissioning editor and VP of original programming Miguel Salvat announced the commission of “Poor Devil,” (“Pobre Diablo”) a new series produced for the streamer by Buendia Estudios with animation done at Granada’s Rokyn Animation Studios.

Joining Salvat on stage in the Spanish capitol were Christina Sulebakk, general manager, HBO Max, Emea, and Joana Silva, VP programming & acquisitions HBO Max Iberia.

Sulebakk used her time in the spotlight to highlight several key details already known about the arrival of HBO Max, while drilling down on the differences between HBO España as it currently exists, and HBO Max as it will exist starting tomorrow.

She outlined four key differences: HBO Max will have a much broader catalog intended to appeal to the whole family more than HBO España has in the past; starting Jan.

‘Gangs Of London’ Dominates Bafta Cymru

Sky Atlantic drama Gangs of London swept up at last night’s Bafta Wales Cymru Awards, winning four awards, while the leads in It’s A Sin and Saint Maud took home the Best Actor and Best Actress gongs. Pulse Films’ Gangs of London won in four technical categories as ITV’s Pembrokeshire Murders, which starred Luke Evans, won the coveted Best Television Drama. Russell T Davies’ Channel 4 drama It’s A Sin’s Callum Scott Howells won Best Actor, with Davies himself taking home Best Writer, and Saint Maud lead Morfydd Clark won Best Actress for the indie flick. Welshman Davies said he had included a Welsh family in It’s A Sin to “show that HIV isn’t only a metropolitan issue and showcase the vast amount of acting talent in Wales.” Meanwhile, Craig Roberts’ dark comedy Eternal Beauty won Best Feature Film.

Valdimar Jóhannsson’s Icelandic-Swedish-Polish drama “Lamb,” starring Noomi Rapace was awarded best film and actress for Rapace at the 54th edition of Sitges’ International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, which wrapped Sunday.

The prizes add to an Originality Prize which the film received when competing at July’s Cannes Un Certain Regard.

“Lamb,” a horror-comedy combo, follows protagonist Maria, played by Rapace, a woman living with her husband in the total loneliness of the Icelandic countryside. According to a Variety review, “creepy-funny-weird-sad ‘Lamb’ proves just how far disbelief can be suspended if you’re in the hands of a director — and a cast, and a SFX/puppetry department — who really commit to the bit.” Lamb is produced by Go to Sheep, Black Spark Film & TV and Madants with New Europe Film Sales and A24 attached.

Universal Pictures Int’l Spain has snatched theatrical distribution rights to the Spanish remake of romcom “A Boyfriend for my Wife” (“Un Novio para mi Mujer”), now shooting in Barcelona.

The 2008 Argentine original by Juan Taratuto, starring Adrian Suar, lured up to 1.5 million admissions in Argentina and has been remade in a slew of territories, including Mexico, Brazil, Italy, China, France, Chile, Vietnam and, most successfully, in South Korea where it sold five million admissions.

Its story revolves around a man who finds a rather unorthodox way of getting rid of his lovely but insufferable wife: Finding her a boyfriend so that she dumps him instead. He picks a well-known Lothario to seduce her but the scheme backfires on him.

Directed by Laura Mañá from a screenplay penned with Pol Cortecans (“Bienvenidos a la familia”), the Spanish remake is produced by Arcadia Motion Pictures and Athos Pictures along with the...

Madrid — Mediapro, one of the biggest independent companies in Europe, is entering animation, partnering with Rokyn Animation, for animated feature “Mudanza Dimensional.”

To be presented at next March’s Cartoon Movie in Bordeaux, the principal European animated feature co-production forum, “Mudanza Dimensional” is written by popular Spanish comedian and actor Joaquín Reyes and Miguel Esteban, creator of the Intl. Emmy-nominated “The End of Comedy.”

Reyes and Esteban will direct with Manuel Sicilia, who was nominated for an Oscar for his short, “The Lady and the Reaper,” and directed and produced two animated features:“The Missing Lynx” and “Justin and the Knights of Valor.”

“Mudanza Dimensional” is produced by Mediapro and Rokyn Animation, founded in 2016, and run by Sicilia and Francesca Nicoll. Their production credits also take in animated omnibus feature ”Extraordinary Tales” and stop-motion TV series “Clay Kids.”
