The Comic-Con panel not only revealed the newest trailer for the adaptation of the Stephen King novel, that has at its heart a downer of a conceit, but it also showed the first 22 minutes of the movie. The story focuses on an annual contest in which 100 teen boys set out on the titular journey under the watchful eye of hard-driving army commander played by Mark Hamill. The assembled crowd of over 6,500 fans was given plenty of warning from the moderators that the some scenes may not be suited for all audiences, on top of the usual warnings of curse words. The first 22 minutes of the Stephen King adaptation “The Long Walk” debuted at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, following the debut of the new red-band trailer and a panel featuring the cast, including Mark Hamill, David Jonsson (“Alien: Romulus”), Tut Nyuot and Garrett Wareing (“Manifest”).

The film is adapted from King’s 1979 novel (first written when he was 19!), set in an authoritarian America in which 50 young adult men join a televised contest to walk continuously at a pace of at least three miles per hour — or they’ll be killed. Hamill plays a man only known as the Major, the military commander who oversees the Walk and gives the walkers their literal marching orders. In the panel, Hamill said that when director Francis Lawrence approached him about playing the part, it immediately evoked his teenage years in Japan, where he went to school next to a U.S. military base.

The story is a dystopian novel that King originally published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. "Karate Kid: Legends" is a whole lot of movie. More specifically , this "Karate Kid" legacy sequel is two different movies awkwardly stitched together. Directed by John Entwistle, "Legends" serves as a sequel to both the 1984 "The Karate Kid" and the 2010 reboot/remake of the same name starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan.

In "Legends," the new "karate kid" is not actually a complete underdog; in fact, he has a lot of experience in kung fu. Ben Wang stars as Li Fong, who moves from the big city to a smaller place, gets a crush on a girl, and makes an enemy out of her violent karate-enthusiast ex-boyfriend. Except, there's more to this movie than that, and that includes a bizarre subplot about Li coaching his new girlfriend's dad to utilize kung fu in a boxing match.

Of course, Li also enters a karate tournament himself because it wouldn't be a "Karate Kid" movie without one.

When auditioning for the role of a younger Haymitch in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel film, Sunrise on the Reaping, Joseph Zada had some competition.

In an interview with People magazine, Zada’s We Were Liars costar Emily Alyn Lind recalled talking to him when he was auditioning for the coveted role.

“So, I was FaceTiming him because he was like, ‘I’m in L.A.’ And I’m like, ‘What are you doing in L.A., loser? Let’s hang out,’ ” Emily Alyn Lind said. “And I FaceTime him and he is at this hotel and he’s being Joe. And he’s like, ‘Yeah, I’m out here. Based on Stephen King‘ 1979 novel of the same name, The Long Walk is directed by Francis Lawrence and written by Jt Mollner (Strange Darling).

“Francis [Lawrence] and I had a really great initial phone call that helped inform what instrumentation we thought would work,” commented Fraites. “Strings and piano felt right in servicing the expected horror you’d find in Stephen King canon. The real challenge for me was going to be writing music that would properly represent the deep relationships these boys were forming while on this brutal walk.”
