He is a languages aficionado. Apart from Greek, he is fluent in Italian, English, French and Turkish, while he also has various levels of competence in a number of other languages (from simply being able to academically describe them, to basic understanding and usage), such as Spanish, German, Russian, Arabic, etc.

He is the nephew of Kostas Strantzalis, a well-known actor, director, and producer, with 54 titles to his credit.

His first experience on stage was at the age of 11, when he played the lead role of the defendant in Nikos Tsiforos' comedy "The nervous gentleman", also known as "The bag and the purse".
