Modern Family is my breakfast show, you know what I mean? I watch it every day with breakfast, to set the tone for the rest of the day. That’s how much I love and revere every character in it. When I heard the news of the Modern Family spinoff being cancelled, I had bittersweet feelings about it.

I would have been excited about seeing Mitch and Cam in the Missouri setup, but I would have missed the rest of the family a lot. Let’s get into what happened and why the Mitch and Cam story, which was so close to being developed, didn’t happen.
