- Ren has a castle in Scotland! She is a descendant on her father's side of the Clan Hannay from Sorbie, Scotland in the southwest Dumfries Galloway area. Ren is actually one of the owners of the ancient Clan Hannay Seat called Sorbie Tower, a castle in need of restoration which would make a great movie setting. It was built in the 1500s.

- Earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

- Ren Hanami is a 2021 Asian Hall of Fame Inductee.
