Netflix's Outside is a post-apocalyptic horror film centered around the Abel family, and its ensemble boasts a variety of talented actors. The Abel family is composed of Francis, his wife Iris, and their two children, Joshua and Lucas, and the film follows them as they try to flee a zombie outbreak infesting their city. They retreat to Francis's childhood farmhouse, resulting in all sorts of family drama, from uncovered childhood trauma to wild marital issues. By Outside's ending, no character is the same, with the talented cast fully flexing their chops with their dynamic portrayals.

Outside is directed by Carlo Ledesma, a Filipino filmmaker known for his work on low-budget horror films like The Tunnel and Sunod. As I have mentioned many times before, violence has been repeatedly used in cinema as a medium of intricate commentary, mostly revolving around sociopolitical, psychological and philosophical themes. This tactic finds one of its apogees in “Batch 81”, a film that deals with the underground tactics of the university fraternities, but is also an allegory regarding fascism and the Marcos regime. The film premiered at the 1982 Cannes Film Festival during the Directors' Fortnight, screened alongside de Leon's 1981 “Kisapmata”. The Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino (Filipino Film Critics) included it on their list of the Ten Best Films of the Decade. In 2017, it was digitally restored with the support of the Asian Film Archive, with a theatrical premiere at the 74th Venice International Film Festival as part of the Venice Classics section.

Angela Bassett has joined Nu Image/Millennium's Olympus Has Fallen. Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart are already attached to star.

The action thriller is set in the White House and follows an ex-Secret Service agent who must fend off Korean terrorists at the White House and protect the President from danger. Gerard Butler is playing the former Secret Service agent with Aaron Eckhart portraying the President. The actress will be playing the director of the Secret Service.

Training Day's Antoine Fuqua is directing from script from Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt. Mark Gil, Gerard Butler and Alan Siegel will be producing.

No production schedule has been released for this project.

Olympus Has Fallen comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart. The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua.
