Criminal Minds: Evolutionshowrunner and executive producer Erica Messer confirms that a TV legend has joined season 4. In the finale of Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3, the Bau seemingly bids farewell to Zach Gilford's Elias Voit and looks ahead to what's next. For arguably the first time in the Paramount+ revival's history, there isn't a massive cliffhanger to address.
The path for Criminal Minds: Evolution season 4 may be a little clearer now, as Messer confirms to TVLinethat veteran actress Jeri Ryan has joined the show. Although exact details about who Ryan will be playing are not known, Messer talks in the quote below about how Ryan's iconic Star Trek connects her to the Paramount+ crime drama:
“Jeri had worked with the director of the premiere, Doug Aarniokoski, for years on Star Trek, so they’ve known one another. ... But yeah, Jeri is amazing.”

Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 episode 10 aired on July 10, 2025, on Paramount+, but unfortunately, the anticipated explosive finale generated mixed feelings about the endings to the Voit, Serial Killer Network, and Disciple cases. While some enjoyed the Bau's takedown, others found it underwhelming and disappointing. If that didn't frustrate fans enough, Erica Messer confirmed another season-long unsub is in store for season 4.
Although I enjoyed the finale and seeing Voit flip the script, I can't ignore that it felt a little underwhelming than expected. After spending so much time focused on Voit, his story ended bleakly and predictably. The Bau deserves to be free of Voit, but in a twist of fate, they feel sorry for him in the end. Although I wished for this outcome for Voit, it still lacked the shock value that leads me to think Voit will end up killing someone else due to his wavering thoughts between good and evil.

After playing the role of Matt Simmons, former Criminal Minds star Daniel Henney had since become one of the stars of Amazon's fantasy series The Wheel of Time. With The Wheel of Time now declared to be canceled at Prime Video, fans may be speculating that Henney will return in the upcoming fourth season of Criminal Minds: Evolution. However, fans should not get excited, as the idea of that happening has been shut down.
Series showrunner Erica Messer commented to TVLine on the possibility of Henney returning as Simmons in Season 4 of Criminal Minds: Evolution, which serves as the 19th season overall for Criminal Minds. While the actor might have a more open schedule, the problem is that the season has already been mapped out. The door has seemingly been left open for a possible return beyond the new season, but Messer emphasized that it's just not going to be...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 18 finale “The Disciple.”] Voit’s (Zach Gilford) network is off the board, thanks to the former psychopath himself on Criminal Minds: Evolution. The Season 18 finale unmasks the disciple who took lead of the network and has been trying to bring out the Sicarius side that may or may not still be inside him, and it’s Tessa (Jordana Spiro), whom Voit’s uncle Cyrus (Silas Weir Mitchell) kidnapped. Now, as she holds him and Ochoa (Aimee Garcia) captive, he makes her think she’s succeeded in bringing out the old Voit, seemingly killing the doctor, only to shoot next to her and also give Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) what she needs to track down every single member of his previous network. With that, Voit is going back to prison, and on his way there, he imagines himself killing an inmate who recognizes him as Sicarius. But how...

This post contains spoilers from Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 episode 10.
Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 episode 9 was a rollercoaster of emotions as Nurse John fooled Dr. Ochoa and the Bau when he joined Voit’s two-week nurse rotation. On duty, he’s spying on Voit for the network, and off the clock, he’s tying up loose ends to run the Bau ragged. Meanwhile, Voit pisses everyone off trying to be the good guy using unhealthy habits. Then, he’s abducted after trying to keep him and Dr. Ochoa concealed from the hospital bloodbath.
Adam Rodriguez (Luke) and Aisha Tyler’s (Tara) collective warning about season 3’s finale being “explosive” had me nervous. They lead me to theorize if Dr. Ochoa was The Disciple or Tessa, while also wondering if Voit would turn evil. One of those predictions was extremely wrong, while others were correct. Criminal Minds stars Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, and Rj Hatanaka, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster.
Deadline We’ve seen Voit go through such a transformation; he was very steadfast in his commitment to being good, even in the face of The Disciple. But there were moments, like when...

This post contains spoilers from Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 episode 9.
Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 episode 8 was emotional, twisty, and impactful as I watched Tara fight for her life. Some fans may think the Bau made no progress, but the episode showed how far someone would go to hurt the Bau. This caused the team to leave no stone unturned as they uncovered more about Voit and Uncle Cyrus’ past and their connections to the present danger.
Episode 9 left me yelling at my TV as the "to be continued" flashed across the screen. The events had one thing in common: Viewers were unknowingly following new hire, nurse John, through the events of the past eight days. With heavy suspicion, I said, “Nurse John is a part of this.” As the crime scene hit Penelope’s servers, the Bau figured out the network was tying up loose ends.

Criminal Minds Season 18 Episode 9 Review: A Penultimate Pile-Up With Paper Footballs and Loose Ends
We’re almost at the finish line, and Criminal Minds Season 18 Episode 9 seems determined to cram in exposition like it’s packing for a weekend trip and just realized it owns 37 black t-shirts.
This episode was a case study in setup — with all the heavy lifting of a finale’s blueprint, but none of the emotional payoff you’d expect from a penultimate episode. People disappeared, boxes arrived, Voit folded a paper football, and yet, I can’t help but feel… flat.
Let’s start there.
(Michael Yarish/Paramount+) When the Penultimate Feels Less Than
There’s a rhythm to Criminal Minds. Even Evolution, for all its rebrand-heavy quirks, knows how to build to a finale. Usually. But this hour? It played more like a checklist.
Reposition this character. Lose that character. Plant a clue here. Drop a red herring there. Cue the “Wtf” music. Rinse. Repeat.

Criminal Minds isn’t a stranger to creating explosive endings that leave fans wanting more. Not only is the Bau hunting one unsub a week, but they’re also tackling a whole network of unsubs who teach each other to kill more effectively. For weeks, the episodes have left fans wondering if the Bau will take down the network, if Voit is still a bad guy, and how the team will emerge on the other side.

Thursday, July 10, seems like a lifetime away for fans of the revived Criminal Minds as they eagerly await that cliffhanger Season 18 finale that Adam Rodriguez previously promised. Titled "The Disciple," the episode may finally provide answers to who the titular serial killer is after leading the Bau on a wild goose chase in past episodes. Meanwhile, close to two months ago, Rodriguez, who portrays Luke in the procedural, teased a pretty intense finale, similar to Aisha Tyler, who mentioned “a lot of complexity” attached to both the penultimate and the finale.

While Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 is heading toward a killer series finale, series star Aisha Tyler promises season 4 will bring plenty more emotional turmoil for the Bau. Throughout all 15 seasons of Criminal Minds, one ironic truth has remained true. For professional psychological analysts, the Bau members themselves are pretty terrible at handling their emotions.
This makes for great television, although happy endings like Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3, episode 8 are hard to come by. Fortunately, series star Aisha Tyler told TVLine that “There’s a really great puzzle box through the end of the season. Many will agree that Zach Gilford's Elias Voit is the revived Criminal Minds’ most interesting character, but how long will he remain on the show? Not to worry, fellow star Aimee Garcia, who just joined the latest season, has provided a much-needed answer. You may recall that Gilford was added to the procedural in Season 16 in a recurring capacity and was promoted to series regular in the next season. He returned in the same capacity for Season 18, in which he’s now a goody two-shoes, dealing with severe amnesia and helping The Bau find some more bad guys.

Aimee Garcia, best known for her role as Ella Lopez in Lucifer and now a rising face on Criminal Minds: Evolution, has touched on the possibility of a reunion with her former co-star, Tom Ellis, who has been cast as the lead in the upcoming FBI off-shoot series, CIA. The two have struck up a post-screen acquaintance which could possibly lead to a future on-screen link-ups. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, the actress revealed she’s still in touch with Ellis, and there might be a chance to reignite that onscreen chemistry familiar to Lucifer fans in the future.
Ellis is billed to play a CIA case officer named Hart Hoxton in what will be CBS' newest entry in its FBI procedural universe. The network has revealed the one-hour drama will feature Ellis as a "fast-talking, rule-breaking loose cannon" CIA officer, partnered with a by-the-book FBI agent at the New York station.

She went on to discuss her camaraderie with Mantegna, saying: "I was just so giddy to meet her and Joe, because he's a fellow Chicagoan and I'm from Chicago. He's a Cubs fan, and I just felt like he was so salt of the earth, which he is. He's a complete class act,...

Criminal Minds: Evolution's Aimee Garcia has opened up on the possibility of her character Dr. Julia Ochoa returning to the show for season 4. Garcia has joined the cast of Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3, the third installment of the Criminal Minds revival show, which is also the 18th season overall of Criminal Minds. Dr. Ochoa has had an interesting arc so far, with her patient— serial killer Elias Voit — suffering a brain injury, and forgetting who he is and what he's done, and the doctor could be around a little longer.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Garcia discussed the chances of making a return to the show next season, revealing she would be delighted for Julia to come back, provided the show wants her to return. She talked about the fact many characters are killed off on the show, and that she hopes her character survives so that she can be in future episodes.

Criminal Minds: Evolution star Zach Gilford opens up about playing a very different version of Elias Voit. Originally introduced as the main villain for the Paramount+ revival, the crime drama has consistently come up with reasons to keep Gilford closely tied to the Criminal Minds cast. And for the third installment, that has meant introducing a storyline where Voit essentially suffers from a kind of amnesia and can't access the memories of the monster that he used to be.
In an interview with ScreenRant's Alisha Grauso for Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3, Gilford was asked about the process of playing a more empathetic version of Voit as a result of the character's brain injury. The Friday Night Lights alum gives a lengthy response, expressing how the crime drama has offered him the chance to do something different. Before you knew Aimee Garcia as forensic scientist Ella Lopez on Lucifer and neuropsychiatrist Dr. Julia Ochoa on Criminal Minds: Evolution, she guest starred on Supernatural — the show that starred Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as brothers who hunted monsters turns 20 this year! — in its third season in 2008. “I had the best time with those guys. My parents came on set, and I do remember my mom flirting with Jensen shamelessly in front of my father, and she’s like — She’s Mexican, so English is her second language. She’s like, ‘Oh, Jensen, you are chewing gum before they start the scene. And then they call action. And then where does the gum go? Criminal Minds: Evolutionactor Aimee Garcia is warning fans to "trust no one" in Season 3. That includes her own character, Dr. Julia Ochoa, a recent addition to the Paramount+ show.
Speaking to TV Insider, Garcia was asked why newcomer Julia should be trusted not just by the characters at the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit, but by viewers at home. "Criminal Minds does a great job of subverting expectations and putting everything upside down," she replied. "The characters you like, you end up hating, the characters you hate, you ended up loving."
"I cannot confirm nor deny anything, but I say trust no one," Garcia continued ominously. "Is she the good doctor? Does she have an ulterior motive? Does she have a superior interest [in Lucas] Voit besides 'do no harm' and to keep him healthy? I don’t know. But I would say with a show like Criminal Minds, everything is on the table.

Aimee Garcia, who plays Dr. Julia Ochoa in Criminal Minds: Evolutions season 3, explains how her character’s perspective on Elias Voit is complete oppositional to the Bau’s view of him, bringing a new source of tension to the show. Voit awakens from a six-month coma in the Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 premiere with complete amnesia, no memory of his past. Dr. Ochoa is Voit’s neuropsychiatrist who refuses to let the Bau influence her treatment of Voit. However, the Bau team members aren’t convinced Voit isn’t faking his amnesia.

We knew the day would eventually come, but man, do we wish we had more time. All eight seasons of Dexter will reportedly be leaving Netflix this June. With licensed content, streaming platforms often rotate titles as deals expire, and unfortunately, that means beloved series can disappear from your watchlist overnight.
Netflix's streaming rights for the popular crime drama are nearing their end, and unless a new deal is struck, Dexter will be gone from the streaming platform this summer. The current departure date is set for Thursday, June 19, 2025, which means the last day to stream all eight seasons will be Wednesday, June 18.
So, if you’ve been meaning to revisit the chilling world of Dexter Morgan or finally watch the series, now’s the perfect time to binge before it's removed. No one likes being caught off guard when their favorite show suddenly disappears. Don't let this happen to you with Dexter.

Criminal Minds: Evolution doesn’t believe in easing us into the season.
Following the premiere’s plunge into psychological torture and Voit’s return from the abyss, “The Zookeeper” delivers a searing, disturbing hour that deepens the central mystery, explores the high cost of trauma, and ends with a heartbreaking farewell to a character who has been with us since 2007.
There’s no sugar-coating this one. It was brutal, it was bold, and for longtime fans, it may be unforgivable.

The 2025 Tribeca Festival has set its selection of shorts across narrative, documentary, animated works and music videos.
Expanded eligibility to projects previously screened in New York or online for out-of-competition consideration led to record submissions and 93 short films this year, a high among major fests.
The music video lineup curated by Sharon Badal, spans the world premiere of Kid Cudi’s new short film Neverland, directed by Ti West and produced by Monkeypaw Productions; Rock the Bells from LL Cool J; Jack White’s That’s How I’m Feeling; and Madame President by Grace Bowers.
Tribeca, which runs June 4–15 in NYC, is also deepening its investment in shorts by introducing the inaugural Shorts Cinema screening room at its Spring Studios festival hub to allow more filmmakers and fans to discover the next generation of independent film, where shorts are often a first stop.

The third installment of the revived Criminal Minds series arrives in less than a month, and with it comes the return of the ever-infuriating Elias Voit. Voit is one of several characters set to return in the new season, as revealed in an all-new teaser from Paramount+, hinting at the chaos ahead for the Behavioral Analysis Unit —Bau. Of course, the Bau is the center of attention in the clip, confirming the return of fan favorites: David Rossi, Jennifer "JJ" Jareau, Penelope Garcia, Dr Tara Lewis, Luke Alvez, Emily Prentiss and Tyler Green.
Kicking off with the somber-looking team (besides Penelope) at the beach, the Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3 trailer progresses to Voit being shown pictures of a couple of murdered victims. Also, Prentiss is heard saying, “Can I tell you a secret? You think this job is about staring down evil, but it's not.” She is speaking to a confused Tyler,...

Netflix has a knack for breathing new life into shows on the brink of oblivion, and for fans of a certain devilishly charming series, this rescue mission was nothing short of a miracle. While the streaming giant has a long track record of delivering gripping original content and reviving fan-favorite shows, not every comeback story has been a fairytale—just ask Arrested Development fans.
But one series, once abandoned by network television, found a second wind under Netflix’s wing, and its legacy has only grown stronger since.
A Devilishly Addictive Plot
Enter Lucifer, the supernatural drama that has recently been rediscovered by a fresh wave of binge-watchers, despite its grand finale airing in 2021. Based on characters crafted by the legendary Neil Gaiman, alongside Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg, the series follows the one and only Lucifer Morningstar.
