Has the impressive distinction of being the only actor to give voice to his character (Piglet) in all the different animated versions of Winnie the Pooh from Walt Disney, from Troppo vento per Winny Puh (1968) all the way through to Winnie the Pooh e gli efelanti (2005). Incredibly, his total credits for playing Piglet were in twenty-three distinct different productions, several of those having multiple episodes.

Provided the voice of "Piglet" for the Pooh series from 1968, with Troppo vento per Winny Puh (1968), until shortly before his death. Walt Disney, himself, heard Fiedler's voice and hand-picked the actor. Ironically, Fiedler died one day after voice specialist Paul Winchell, who voiced the role of "Tigger".

Used to stage productions in his family garage with neighborhood children.

Diagnosed with cancer, he became a patient of the Lillian Booth Actor's Fund Home in Englewood, New Jersey, in November 2004 and died there in June 2005. He was survived by his brother, James Fiedler and a sister, Mrs. Mary Dean.

Along with Carole Shelley and Monica Evans, he is one of only 3 actors to appear in both La strana coppia (1968) and the subsequent television adaptation La strana coppia (1970).

Along with Carole Shelley and Monica Evans, he appeared in The Odd Couple on Broadway, in the 1968 film and on the television series. However, while Carole and Monica played the same roles in all three incarnations, John played poker player Vinny in both the Broadway and film versions but portrayed different characters on TV.

Born on exactly the same date as Shelley Berman.
