Learned about her Oscar nomination while getting her son ready for the school. She expected Roma (2018) to be nominated but was in complete shock when she got nominated for her performance in the film.

I really liked how it signified the return of a director born in Mexico, who has achieved international recognition, but who feels an enormous gratitude to his origins as marked by this film. There is nothing about this project that anyone could say 'no' to. It is really a gift of life.
