Winters with Tommy Abbott, William Bramley, Carole D'Andrea, Tony Mordente, and Jay Norman are the only actors in West Side Story, to have been cast in both the Original Broadway Show and the Motion Picture.

While there was no category for "Outstanding Achievement in Choreography" at the Emmy Awards, Winters was nominated for dance choreography in the "Special Classification of Individual Achievements" category.

Winters started his career in show business at the age of 13, acting and dancing in Broadway Plays, various NYC originated TV Series, and Movies.
