Formed "Broue" with Marc Messier and Marcel Gauthier in 1979.. That play in which the 3 actors played all the parts was written by Claude Meunier, Jean-Pierre Plante, Francine Ruel, and Louis Saia. It holds the Guiness world record for most performances of a play by the same cast at 3322. It's set in a tavern (pub) at a time where before women in Québec were not allowed to enter and drink.

On June 21st, 2023 was made 'Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Québec' posthumously.

He was awarded the O.C. (Officer of the Order of Canada) on November 9, 2022 and Invested on: May 26, 2023 in Montréal, Quebec, Canada He was one of the most versatile and prolific actors in Quebec. Acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, he has played iconic characters in some of the biggest films of recent decades, including "Cruising Bar," "C.R.A.Z.Y". and "De Père En Flic." He starred in the television series "Omertà" and appeared in "La Petite Vie," two programs that shaped generations of viewers. Co-writer and co-star of "Broue," he contributed to the most widely seen, longest-running and greatest success in the history of Quebec theatre.
