Signed to a seven-year contract by Universal. She was set to star as Estella in Il forzato (1934) before Jane Wyatt was cast. She seems to have appeared in the film in some other, uncredited capacity. She broke her contract and returned to London after four months to resume theater roles.

Stepmother of prominent photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones Snowdon.

Daughter of Sir Thomas and Lady Alice Coombe.

She was reportedly considered to play the role of adult Em'ly in Davide Copperfield (1935) but the role went to Florine McKinney.

Protegee of Leontine Sagan. She make her stage debut in a British stage version of Sagan's notorious film Ragazze in uniforme (1931), a production that also starred Joyce Bland, Lola Duncan, Barbara Everest, Katie Johnson, Cathleen Nesbitt, Isobel Scaife and Jean Stirling.
