Projects presented at the Film Bazaar 'work-in progress 2010' have been selected in the Indian Panorama Iffi this year Three films which were selected in Indian panorama were mentored in the Work-in-Progress Lab of Film Bazaar last year. The Work-in-Progress Lab 2010 projects selected in the Indian Panorama 2011 include Sahi Dhande Galat Bande (Hindi) by Parvin Dabbas, Karmayogi (Malayalam) by V.K. Prakash and Baboo Band Baaja (Marathi) by Rajesh Pinjani. Baboo Band Baaja is a seminal work on the Bandwallah community (street musicians) through the hopes and struggles of Jaggu a street musician, his wife and their son Baboo. It is the story of persistence and the power of decisions that defines hope in the life of the deprived. This film is Pinjani's directorial debut and has been honored with multiple National awards. V.K Prakash's Karmayogi is a passionate portrayal of the conflicts of a wronged son and his fixation to avenge his father's death.

Three projects that participated in Work-in-Progress Lab at Film Bazaar 2010 have been selected in the Indian Panorama section at International Film Festival of India (Iffi) 2011.

The projects include Sahi Dhande Galat Bande (Hindi) by Parvin Dabbas, Karmayogi (Malayalam) by V.K Prakash and Baboo Band Baaja (Marathi) by Rajesh Pinjani.

Work-in-Progress Lab is where filmmakers submit their rough-cut feature/documentary films to receive guidance and mentoring from international film experts.

Mangesh Joshi’s He (Bhojpuri) and Nabyendu Chatterjee’s Sanskar (Bengali) have also been selected in the Indian Panorama. Both the films are Nfdc productions. Joshi’s He was also presented at the Co-Production Market & the Screenwriters’ Lab at Film Bazaar in 2008.

Film Bazaar will be held from November 24-27, at Goa Marriot Resort, Goa (India) alongside the International Film Festival of India.

Urumi directed by Santosh Sivan will screen as the opening film of Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival of India, Goa 2011.

The jury for Feature films, headed by filmmaker Sai Paranjpye selected 23 films out of a total of 118 eligible entries for the Iffi 2011, Indian Panorama Section. Malayalam film Adaminte Makan Abu, directed by Salim Ahamed which won Best Feature Film award at the recent 58th National Film Awards is the 24th film of Indian Panorama, by virtue of direct entry.

In the Non-Feature Film category, Adwaita Sangeet directed by Makarand Brahme will be the opening film. The Non-Feature films Jury chaired by writer-director Ashok Rane picked 21 films out of 135 eligible entries. The winner of Best Non-Feature film in the recent 58th National Film Awards for 2010 Germ by Snehal R. Nair has not been included in the Non-Feature film category, as it was already included in Indian Panorama 2010 last year.
