Chase Masterson

Originally auditioned for the role of Jake Sisko's Bajoran girlfriend Mardah on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993). She was one of two actresses up for the role, but lost out because she was considered rather too sexy. The role of Leeta, a Dabo girl, was written with her in mind, but she still had to audition for the role.
Was a national spokesperson for NordicTrack. On her first day on the set of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993), actor Avery Brooks recognized her from the commercials.
Along with fellow Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) co-stars Aron Eisenberg, Max Grodénchik and the late Cecily Adams, she was part of the popular comedy sketch "Ferengi Family Hour" that frequented Star Trek conventions.
Sued Matchmaker.com after an unknown person using a computer in Berlin, Germany, posted a profile of Masterson containing her real-life personal contact information on the site without her knowledge or consent. The trial court dismissed her case on the basis that she is a public figure. On August 13, 2003, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the trial court's dismissal. Masterson has since become a vocal advocate for online privacy, especially for celebrities and public figures.
Spent 8 years as a professional dancer, and is a member of the improvisational group "The Groundlings".

You know, I think that the world needs Star Trek as much as it ever has, or maybe even more these days. And I think that the fans being able to come and celebrate that and be together, it's been just really lovely, and it's sad to see it go.
