Is also an acting coach. Among her students have been Jada Pinkett Smith, Benjamin Bratt and Toni Braxton.

In 2008 Essence magazine ranked her book, On My Own Terms: One Actor's Journey, number 3 behind two books authored by President Barack Obama.

Her woman historical solo show of historical African American women, "I Am that I Am; Woman, Black" has now toured 40 states and 3 continents including the US/Caribbean, Europe, and Africa.

Including many of her numerous awards over the years, Adilah was inducted into the "Hall of Fame" in her hometown Oroville, CA in 2016.

A Theatre Arts major, In year 2000, she was named one of the 50 most influential alumni at UC Santa Cruz.
