Though Kate never appeared in any of her father's films, she did play the daughter of her real-life mother Siân Phillips in In fondo al buio (1969), their only joint venture.

In 1984, while appearing on stage in Brendan Behan's "The Hostage" (directed by Jim Sheridan) at the Irish Arts Centre on West 51st Street in NYC, her father, Peter O'Toole, made a surprise entrance at the end of the show on closing night to play a bit part. The audience, needless to say, was overwhelmed.
