The Story Factory’s Shane Salerno made a three-book deal with Insight CEO Raoul Goff and publisher Vanessa Lopez. Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay, which evolved from his now-scrapped project The Movie Critic - a 1970s-set film that would've focused on a movie reviewer for a pornographic magazine, with Cliff Booth also featuring.

However, while writing, Tarantino became more and more fascinated with exploring Booth further, expanding his role in the story throughout the process and ultimately developing a different project entirely. He then showed the script to Pitt who was taken by the direction, and when Tarantino said he wasn't interested in helming this one, Pitt asked if he could find his own director.

In Tarantino’s 2019 alternative-history drama about the Manson “family” and Sharon Tate, Pitt starred as stunt performer Cliff Booth opposite Leonardo DiCaprio (as washed-up actor Rick Dalton) and Margot Robbie (as Tate). While no plot details of the new project have been officially announced, the Hollywood Reporter is saying it will be “derivative” of the original, rather than a sequel. Tarantino published a “novelisation” of the film in 2021, which included further details of Booth’s backstory and life episodes.

It has been more than half a decade since Once Upon a Time in Hollywood first graced the screens, but it feels like the comedy-Western is barely done amusing fans just yet. As the latest reports have it, a sequel for the same is currently in the making, with rumors swirling around about the return of both Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.

David Fincher is known for directing thought-provoking, dark films with a very particular sense of humor. His crime thriller Se7en is heralded as one of the best in the genre, but it is far from the only film of its caliber.

There are (albeit few) other thrillers that can grip audiences as well as Se7en from start to finish. These succeed thanks to a variety of factors, like great direction, strong performances and shocking plot twists. What was the CIA’s MKUltra program?

The CIA’s MKUltra program began around 1953, and Tom O’Neill, the writer whose book this documentary is based on, believed that it had a crucial role to play in the Charles Manson murders.
