The late Benny Chan directed “The White Storm” back in 2013 starring Lau Ching Wan, Louis Koo and Nick Cheung. In “The White Storm 2: Drug Lords” (2019) which starred Andy Lau and Louis Koo, Herman Yau took over as director. Now in 2023, Yau is back in this in-title-only third installment again featuring Koo, Lau Ching Wan and Aaran Kwok, the newcomer to the series. All these actors play different characters altogether but the themes of war against drugs, royalty and brotherhood are still there but told in a new storyline.

The year is 2021 and Kang Su Chat, a Thai-Chinese drug lord who runs his operation in Hong Kong has his men fish up a few barrels containing heroin off the coast. As they leave the docks after unloading their precious cargo, the police show up which results in an intense firefight.

Following the enormous critical and financial success in the local theaters, the release of “The Meg” started a wave of similarly-produced creature features and animal-attack films to capitalize on its release. That has led to a steady stream of cheap, goofy creature features that remain popular to this day, including this effort from 2020 that is now available on digital and DVD from WellGo USA.

The area around the Devil's Sea is also known as the Bermuda Triangle of Asia. Due to electromagnetic interference, aviation accidents occur frequently in the area. Lin Hao (Gallen Lo) and his daughter Yi (Liao Yinyue) were passengers on Flight GZ261. While flying over the Devil's Sea, the plane malfunctions, causing an emergency landing on Crocodile Island. Hao and the other passengers encounter a large crocodile and spider and engage in a battle for survival.

In addition to Tik/Croc, which was just announced this morning, another crocodile horror movie is on the way soon. This one is titled Crocodile Island, and we’ve got a trailer today.

The Chinese monster movie comes to Digital and DVD here in the United States on November 21 from Well Go USA Entertainment, Bd has learned. Bite into the trailer below.

In Crocodile Island…

“A plane malfunction lands a single father and his daughter on Crocodile Island, in an area around the Devil’s Sea also known as the Bermuda Triangle of Asia. They and the other survivors must battle enormous crocodiles and spiders in an epic battle for their very survival.”

Co-directed by Shixing Xu (Sharktopus) and Simon Zhao (The Antarctic Octopus), the film stars Gallen Lo (Flashover), Yinyue Liao (“Meet Yourself”), and Bingxiang Wang.
