Viruta [Marco Antonio Campos] and Capulina [Gaspar Henaine] were fantastic, noble; and not to mention Resortes [Adalberto Martínez], a great dancer, very good actor, played many characters; and what about Clavillazo [Antonio Espino], he was a great.

[on Pedro Infante] He died in '57, and we could not work with him anymore. But I got the last bit of the golden age of Mexican cinema, which was wonderful, because at that time 258 films were made annually even though we were five million inhabitants.

My father always advised us not to mix these things [relationships] with work, and that is why I was left with the desire of [pursuing romances with] two, three [male co-stars].

I worked with everyone, you name him. Tony Aguilar [Antonio Aguilar], Luis Aguilar, Joaquín Cordero, all kind, gentlemanly and with great education. I confess that two, three did hit on me, and with two, three I was left with the desire [to pursue a romance] because they were so handsome.

[on the transition from star to character actress] We have to always keep that in mind. My stepfather, whom I loved as my father, Víctor Velázquez, always told us that this career was ten, twenty or even thirty years of continuous work, and little by little it would be reduced. And that is what is happening with me; that's the way life is and you have to take it with maturity and thank God every day.

[on her sister and frequent co-star, Tere Velázquez] We were only two daughters, we had no [other] siblings, we were always very close, but what happened is that Tere was prettier than me and then she felt [superior]. She was always bothering me concerning ego and vanity, but that helped me for my life and my career. But we loved each other very much.
