‘Love Thing,’ Starring Elyas M’Barek, Picked Up By Picture Tree Intl., ‘Soul of a Beast’ Debuts Trailer (Exclusive)
Image
Berlin-based sales agency Picture Tree Intl. has added to its European Film Market slate “Love Thing,” starring top German actor Elyas M’Barek, whose credits include “The Collini Case.” Also on the slate is “Soul of a Beast,” which debuts its trailer below.

Despite the virtual nature of the EFM, the company has taken additional office space at the Marriott Hotel in Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz.

“Love Thing,” which also stars Lucie Heinze, Peri Baumeister and Alexandra Maria Lara, is directed and written by Anika Decker, whose last feature “High Society” sold widely. Decker scripted box office successes like “Rabbit Without Ears,” which grossed $85 million.

“Love Thing” is produced by German production-distribution powerhouse Constantin Film, which has set its release for July 7. The producers are Rüdiger Böss and Philipp Reuter; the co-producers are Anika Decker and Jan Decker; and the executive producer is Martin Moszkowicz. Picture Tree will present a first teaser trailer to select buyers.

Quantico Recap: The Prodigal Son Returns (Yep, Caleb Is Finally Back)
Caleb wears a sombrero for a good part of his return in this week’s Quantico, and really, did you expect anything different?

The prodigal Haas brother re-enters the action after a call and several (unanswered) texts from Shelby, who’s worried that Clay has lost his way and is thinking about shutting down the slow-to-deliver taskforce.

By the end of the hour, it’s clear that Caleb will be around for at least another week. (Of course, TVLine readers knew that a while back.) Is the blond-on-blond magic still there? Or has Shelby moved on to another Haas man?...

Quantico Season 2 Episode 16 Review: Mktopaz
Keeping secrets for a living and a healthy, happy relationship don't exactly go hand in hand.

On Quantico Season 2 Episode 16, most of the team struggled with the fact that there's no place in their lives for any meaningful connections. It's all work, all secrets, all the time. It's not an easy pill to swallow.

This is how the personal drama should be done. Everyone's side storyline was connected through this unfortunate side effect of their job. Everyone's drama was entertaining and not soap opera-like. It was enjoyable.

Clay's struggle to lie to his fiancé Maxine helped remind us that he's not like everyone else on the task force. Up until this assignment, Clay did not keep secrets for a living. He led a normal life.

A life that has completely changed since becoming the (sort of) leader of a top-secret task force.

His big protest at involving Maxine in the...

Falco: The Rise and Fall of an 80′s Pop Icon | Review
Director: Thomas Roth Writer: Thomas Roth Starring: Manuel Rubey, Nicolas Ofczarek, Christian Tramitz, Patricia Aulitzky, Susi Stach Born on February 19, 1957 as Johann (Hans) Hölzel, Falco is revered by many Austrians and Germans as the European Elvis. In the United States, however, Falco is typically considered a one-hit wonder (his one hit, for those of you who were living under a rock in the 1980s, being "Rock Me Amadeus"). Writer-director Thomas Roth's casting of Manuel Rubey (singer for the Austrian rock band Mondscheiner) in the 11th hour to portray Hölzel/Falco turns out to be the saving grace of Falco: The Rise and Fall of an 80's Pop Icon. Told as a straight-forward bio-pic, Roth begins with Hölzel's childhood, showing his early fascination with music (especially pop music) and brothels; it also allows us to hear Hölzel's mother (Susi Stach) tell him: "Nothing comes from nothing...be able to look...

Carancho (2010)
This Week In Trailers: Falco – Verdammt, wir leben noch! (Falco: Damn It, We’re Still Alive!), Miss Representation, Carancho, Poetry, Ride, Rise, Roar
Carancho (2010)
Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: I celebrate all levels of trailers and hopefully this column will satisfactorily give you a baseline of what beta wave I’m operating on, because what better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? Some of the best authors will tell you that writing a short story is a lot harder than writing a long one, that you have to weigh every sentence. What better medium to see how this theory plays itself out beyond that than with movie trailers? Carancho Trailer Ricardo Darin gets a pass from me simply because of The Secret in Their Eyes. A taut thriller that didn’t relent, that...
