Rain suffered from drug abuse for many years, but got herself clean in 1993. She has since acted as an addiction counselor and spoke at high schools about her past battles with drugs and alcohol addiction.

Father was married and divorced 6 times. She has three brothers and two sisters.

On April 1, 2008, she gave birth to a daughter name Lotus Marie Pryor. Child's father is her ex-husband Yale Partlow.

Just finished a highly successful four month run of her one-woman experience, "Fried Chicken & Latkes," at the Canon Theater in Beverly Hills, California--to standing ovations every night! She wrote, created, and co-produced her show, including adding some of her own original music and lyrics to the production. (2004)

Her maternal grandfather, Herbert Bonis, was Danny Kaye's manager for 35 years.

She is a spokesperson for Multiple Sclerosis educating families and caretakers. She continues to raise money for MS research by headlining national MS events around the US and abroad. She is also a highly sought after speaker on issues of Multicultural diversity in the media and education.

She graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1987.

Was in rehearsals for her one-woman experience, said to open in New York by fall 2004. The show is based on the life of the actress. It's a hero's journey from the standpoint of a person born into a world of "US vs. Them"--but not quite an "us" and not quite a "them."

Currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland [September 2017].
