Though called "Milky Pan" by his fans, Pan Yueming has no idea at all why they call him that. He believes that he is a tough guy.

Most of Pan Yueming's fans like to call him Teacher Pan because they respect him like a teacher. They also give him several nicknames such as Milky Pan, Pan Pan, and so on.

Yueming has an artsy side and enjoys the traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting. When he was three years old, Yueming's father made him to start learning the traditional Chinese calligraphy. However, not until the year of 2015 did Yueming begin truly enjoying it. Yueming is gifted in drawing. He was admitted into a top high school in Beijing without an entrance exam because he won the first place in a district drawing contest. After he finished the shooting of Day and Night in 2016, he started to seek for professional training in traditional Chinese painting and kept practicing ever since. Sometimes, he even stays up all night to finish one piece of painting. He often shares his works of calligraphy and painting on Weibo (the Chinese version of Twitter).

"Yueming" is not his original given name. When he was 13, he proposed to legally change his first name to Yueming (partly due to the fact that his original given name sounds a bit girly). His current first name "Yueming" comprises of two separate Chinese characters. "Yue" is the abbreviation for Guangdong Province, which represents his father's hometown where natives speak Cantonese. "Ming" means "bright", which insinuates he wants to be an open and honest man with integrity and dignity.
