Moll uses a portable pattern buffer to preserve and resurrect her Breen lover in Star Trek: Discovery. Transporter pattern buffers have saved lives in various Star Trek series. A portable pattern buffer is a next-level upgrade to one of the oldest Star Trek technologies.
Star Trek: Discovery just updated the technology that allowed Captain Montgomery Scott (James Doohan) to make an appearance on Star Trek: The Next Generation. In Discovery season 5, Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the crew of the USS Discovery find themselves on an interstellar quest in search of the powerful technology of the Progenitors. First introduced on Tng, the Progenitors were ancient humanoids responsible for creating all humanoid life. The technology of Discovery's 32nd century is already more advanced than that of any other Star Trek series, but the Progenitors' technology could literally hold the keys to creation.

George A. Romero brought the world the first flesh-eating zombies in the 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead, then followed that up with Dawn of the Dead in 1978 and Day of the Dead in 1985. He was hoping to get another Dead movie made in the ’90s, but wasn’t able to get it into production until the next decade – resulting in the 2005 release Land of the Dead (watch it Here). And with the new episode of the Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie?, we’re digging into the story of the making of Romero’s long-awaited fourth Dead movie. Check it out in the embed above!
Written and directed by Romero, Land of the Dead had the following synopsis: In a world where zombies form the majority of the population, the remaining humans build a feudal society away from the undead. Ruthless Paul Kaufman rules and protects this microcosm but enforces painful class distinctions.

Christmas weekend has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean the holiday festivities have to end – and since winter is here in full force, it’s definitely still fireplace weather. So it doesn’t feel like it’s too late to share the Chucky yule log video that was released by the folks at Syfy last week. The video is, sadly, geoblocked, but if you can see it you’ll find the heartwarming sight of horror icon Chucky sitting beside a fireplace – a Christmas tree nearby and stockings hung with care. And this is a video you’ll be able to keep on in the background for 70 minutes.
Chucky season 2, which aired on both Syfy and USA Network, wrapped up its eight episode run in late November with a season finale that was set on Christmas. There’s still no word on whether or not we’ll be getting...

Each week Joe Lipsett will highlight a key scene or interaction in S02 of Don Mancini’s Chucky series to consider how the show is engaging with and contributing to queer horror.
Leave it to “Chucky” to not only pivot at the mid-way point of its second season to become a one-off campy murder mystery in the vein of Clue, but also to do its queer homework. Yes folks, gather around as we welcome back Glen and Glenda (both played by non-binary actor Lachlan Watson) for the first time since their introduction all the way back in Seed of Chucky.
As listeners of Horror Queers know from our episode with Don Mancini, there was a lot of hesitation about bringing these characters back because they were not well received back in 2004. Obviously times have changed since the gender non-confirming twins were first introduced, but Chucky’s audience is seemingly more...

The latest episode of Don Mancini’s “Chucky” begins with a brief recap of Seed of Chucky that signals a narrative shift. “Death on Denial” temporarily leaves behind the Catholic boarding school setting to pick up where we left off with Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) cleaning up after a murder just as children Glen and Glenda (both played by Lachlan Watson) arrive. Episode four goes meta with this wild family reunion and then some.
This episode focuses on Tiffany’s attempts to entertain guests while hiding a bound, gagged, and Chucky-possessed Nica (Fiona Dourif) behind her locked bedroom door, setting up a sitcom scenario, albeit with a horror twist. It’s not just Glen and Glenda that splits Tiffany’s focus, but longtime friends of actress Jennifer Tilly’s: Joe Pantoliano, Gina Gershon, Sutton Stracke, and Meg Tilly. Each brings their baggage and history with Tilly to complicate Tiffany’s attempts to keep Nica a secret.

Next week’s brand new episode of “Chucky” is titled “Death on Denial” and it’s going to be a special one for a few reasons. For starters, Don Mancini himself directed the episode, and it also brings Glen and Glenda back into the franchise for the first time since Seed of Chucky!
Glen/Glenda was of course the genderfluid child of Chucky and Tiffany, referenced in the first season of “Chucky” but not actually shown on screen since the film Seed of Chucky.
Last we saw, the original doll character had been split into two human bodies.
Additionally, Jennifer Tilly‘s sister Meg Tilly will star in “Death on Denial,” wherein Tiffany’s secrets are threatened by a surprise intervention.
Next week’s episode is being teased as a “murder-mystery party,” with special guest stars also including Joe Pantoliano, Gina Gershon, and Sutton Stracke.

Director Stu Stone and producing partner Adam Rodness want you to know that their indie film comedy Vandits — about small-time crooks looking to rob a senior citizens’ bingo hall of its 25,000 jackpot on Christmas Eve — having 250,000 worth of camera and lighting equipment stolen on their first day of shooting was no publicity stunt.
“There’s an empty parking space. Where’s the truck? Really, where’s the truck?” Stone recalls asking ashen-faced production crew members in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in October 2021 as he stared at where a truck and trailer with all of his film gear inside had been parked the night before.
It might have looked like a stunt as the Toronto-based filmmakers’ last movie had been Faking a Murderer, a 2020 docu-comedy where Stone and Rodness, in search of their next hit, investigate a seedy man they believed to be a serial killer but never was.

The wrestling program WWE Raw airs on the USA Network and so does the Chucky TV series (which also airs on Syfy), so it makes sense that wrestler Liv Morgan wore a Chucky-inspired outfit in the ring as a bit of cross-promotion during an episode of Raw last year. But there’s another reason for Morgan’s Chucky tribute: she happens to be a fan of the killer doll, and during an interview she even said that she would love to be killed by Chucky on screen. She might get her wish, because the official Twitter account has announced that Morgan will be appearing in the October 26th episode of Chucky season 2!

Don Mancini, who has written every film in the franchise (except that remake) and directed a few of them, developed Chucky with producer David Kirschner. A new trailer has landed for season 2 of the awesome horror series ‘Chucky,’ in which seems our serial killer doll is about to terrorise the clergy.
In the second season, killer doll Chucky (Brad Dourif) crosses paths with archenemies, old allies and new prey as he seeks to inspire fear and mayhem wherever he goes.
After his diabolical plan to invade America’s children’s hospitals was foiled in season one, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he holds responsible: surviving teens Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson) and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), along with his ex Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) now his sworn enemy.
Meg Tilly, Gina Gershon, Joe Pantoliano, Tony Nappo, Lara Jean Chorostecki and Sutton Stracke also star in the new run along with other returnees like Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise and Barbara Alyn Woods. Devon Sawa will also be back playing a new character.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched the first season of “Pretty Hard Cases,” streaming now on IMDb TV.
For seven seasons, Adrienne C. Moore played an inmate nicknamed Black Cindy on Netflix’s dark comedy “Orange Is the New Black,” set in a women’s prison Litchfield Penitentiary. With her new Canadian television series, “Pretty Hard Cases,” Moore is now on the other side of the law as Kelly Duff, a no-nonsense drug squad detective. But, she has found some important similarities between the two shows that helped make her professional transition an easy one.
“What I learned from my time at ‘Orange’ was that yes, even though prison creates its own microcosm of a world, it’s still dealing with the same dynamics that we deal with on the larger scale of the bigger world — the politics, the theme of education, with love, with rivalries.

Available today on VOD & digital is Faking a Murderer from director / co-writer Stuart Stone and co-writer Adam Rodness! Here's an exclusive clip just for Daily Dead viewers:
"Faking a Murderer follows two filmmakers on their noble yet perhaps misguided quest to track down a seedy-looking stranger they’ve discovered online who — in a disturbing video — seemingly confesses to a murder. Or at least that’s what they think. Seeing the popularity of true crime shows, they decide to try and turn this discovery into their own killer hit. With the support (both moral and financial) of a distributor, Stuart Stone and Adam Rodness set off on their journey to try and track down this elusive creep. When they bring the video to law enforcement, they’re told — repeatedly — that it’s really not much to go on, and they’re putting a lot of time and energy into what essentially is a fool’s errand.

Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired U.S. rights Sean Cisterna’s dramatic feature From the Vine for a PVOD and digital release this fall. The movie, written by Willem Wennekers, and adapted from Ken Cancellara’s novel Finding Marco, follows Mark Gentile (Joe Pantoliano), an attorney and automotive company executive, who travels to Italy after a major humiliation in business. He returns to the tiny village of Acerenza, visiting the vineyard where he grew up and finds it in a state of disrepair. Mark gets an idea to bring the overgrown property back to life and start producing wine again. Mark convinces various denizens of Acerenza, each with their own comedic personality, to aid him in this seemingly impractical effort, promising everyone a share in the business if it is successful. Concerned about his sudden and lengthy trip, Mark is joined by his wife Marina, and his twenty-something daughter, Laura,...
