Leave it to “Chucky” to not only pivot at the mid-way point of its second season to become a one-off campy murder mystery in the vein of Clue, but also to do its queer homework. Yes folks, gather around as we welcome back Glen and Glenda (both played by non-binary actor Lachlan Watson) for the first time since their introduction all the way back in Seed of Chucky.

The latest episode of Don Mancini’s “Chucky” begins with a brief recap of Seed of Chucky that signals a narrative shift. “Death on Denial” temporarily leaves behind the Catholic boarding school setting to pick up where we left off with Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) cleaning up after a murder just as children Glen and Glenda (both played by Lachlan Watson) arrive. Episode four goes meta with this wild family reunion and then some.

This episode focuses on Tiffany’s attempts to entertain guests while hiding a bound, gagged, and Chucky-possessed Nica (Fiona Dourif) behind her locked bedroom door, setting up a sitcom scenario, albeit with a horror twist. It’s not just Glen and Glenda that splits Tiffany’s focus, but longtime friends of actress Jennifer Tilly’s: Joe Pantoliano, Gina Gershon, Sutton Stracke, and Meg Tilly. Each brings their baggage and history with Tilly to complicate Tiffany’s attempts to keep Nica a secret.

Next week’s brand new episode of “Chucky” is titled “Death on Denial” and it’s going to be a special one for a few reasons. For starters, Don Mancini himself directed the episode, and it also brings Glen and Glenda back into the franchise for the first time since Seed of Chucky!

Glen/Glenda was of course the genderfluid child of Chucky and Tiffany, referenced in the first season of “Chucky” but not actually shown on screen since the film Seed of Chucky.

Last we saw, the original doll character had been split into two human bodies.

Additionally, Jennifer Tilly‘s sister Meg Tilly will star in “Death on Denial,” wherein Tiffany’s secrets are threatened by a surprise intervention.

Next week’s episode is being teased as a “murder-mystery party,” with special guest stars also including Joe Pantoliano, Gina Gershon, and Sutton Stracke.

Director Stu Stone and producing partner Adam Rodness want you to know that their indie film comedy Vandits — about small-time crooks looking to rob a senior citizens’ bingo hall of its 25,000 jackpot on Christmas Eve — having 250,000 worth of camera and lighting equipment stolen on their first day of shooting was no publicity stunt.

“There’s an empty parking space. Where’s the truck? Really, where’s the truck?” Stone recalls asking ashen-faced production crew members in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in October 2021 as he stared at where a truck and trailer with all of his film gear inside had been parked the night before.

It might have looked like a stunt as the Toronto-based filmmakers’ last movie had been Faking a Murderer, a 2020 docu-comedy where Stone and Rodness, in search of their next hit, investigate a seedy man they believed to be a serial killer but never was.

The wrestling program WWE Raw airs on the USA Network and so does the Chucky TV series (which also airs on Syfy), so it makes sense that wrestler Liv Morgan wore a Chucky-inspired outfit in the ring as a bit of cross-promotion during an episode of Raw last year. But there’s another reason for Morgan’s Chucky tribute: she happens to be a fan of the killer doll, and during an interview she even said that she would love to be killed by Chucky on screen. She might get her wish, because the official Twitter account has announced that Morgan will be appearing in the October 26th episode of Chucky season 2!

This first full week of October is a huge week for new horror, with 13 brand new horror movies arriving in theaters and on streaming. And the small screen is loaded with fresh horror, too.

The trailers for Chucky season 2 have made it clear that a Catholic boarding school is a major location in the upcoming season, which is set to start airing on Syfy and USA Network on October 5th. The poster, which can be seen at the bottom of this article, promises that Chucky is going to raise “holy hell”. “Chucky” is back on Syfy and USA with Season 2 of Don Mancini‘s series on October 5, and this morning an official image gallery has opened up with some special treats.

These new images preview a few different episodes from Season 2, including a Halloween-themed episode that’s titled “Halloween II.” That sequel branding is likely a reference to the first season featuring a Halloween episode, a tradition “Chucky” will be continuing in Season 2. The images also preview the return of Devon Sawa as well as the iconic Tiffany doll.

Kim’s Convenience stars Andrew Phung and Nicole Power have landed their next projects at Canada’s CBC, less than a month after the comedy’s producers said the series would end with its fifth season. Their latest titles will launch during the upcoming 2021-22 broadcast season.

Phung, who appears in the Korean Canadian family comedy as Kimchee, has teamed with The Secret Marathon‘s Scott Townsend to create Run the Burbs. The original series will focus a young, bold Canadian family taking a different approach to living life to the fullest in the suburbs.
