Nephew of John Schmitt who played Center for the N.Y. Jets. Schmitt won Super Bowl III in 1968 as Joe Namath's teammate.

He appears with Nathan Fillion in The Final Frontier (2012). As a teenager, he played Joey Buchanan on Una vita da vivere (1968); when he left the show, the character was aged and Fillion was cast as his replacement.

Completed the 2008 L.A. Marathon.

Winner of the Best Actor Award for his performance in Blind Pass (2013) at the Movieville Film Festival.
