He is the only voice actor in the Transformers franchise to have regularly played both Megatron and Optimus Prime.

Kaye originally auditioned for the role of the heroic Optimus Primal leader of the Maximals on Beast Wars: Transformers (1996) while Garry Chalk, who ultimately played Optimus, originally auditioned for the role of the evil Megatron leader of the Predacons. Chalk did play the original Decepticon Megatron in a season 2 episode of Beast Wars while Kaye later played Optimus Prime on Transformers Animated (2007).
