Released the same year as his cult classic Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky, director Ngai Choi Lam’s bonkers feline horror movie The Cat is clawing back to life with a brand new Blu-ray.

On August 26, 88 Films presents the North American Blu-ray debut of the Hong Kong film The Cat with a limited release featuring a high-definition transfer loaded with bonus content.

The special features include a limited edition rigid slipcase, 40-page perfect bound book, a limited edition premium artcard, audio commentary by Frank Djeng (Asian Film Festival), a new interview with writer Gordon Chan, and an image gallery.

When I think of Wu Xia movies, I immediately think of Shaw Brothers and the many classic they have made over the years. What I love about this genre is many things, the Swordplay, The Characters, Story lines, Setting, Costumes and much more.

Wu Xia, traditionally is a form of literature. But after high demand over the years it’s become involoved in many art forms such as Movies, Opera, Video Games and beyond.
