Beside her critically acclaimed roles in three movies, she has been the leading actress in three stage productions at Munich Kammerspiele: "Antigone", "Die Nibelungen" and "Die zehn Gebote" since 2004.

For her performance in La rosa bianca - Sophie Scholl (2005), she was the first of three consecutive German winners of the Silver Bear for Best Actress at Berlin Film Festival: she was followed by by Sandra Hüller in Requiem (2006) and Nina Hoss in Yella (2007).

Studied at the Drama School "Ernst Busch" in Berlin from 1997 to 2001.

Parents are lawyers.
