A series of three short films, adapted from various stories or pieces of art, Death Car and Monkey's Paw are re-tellings of old urban legends, and Wind to a Faraway Land was inspired by a painting of a dog. These films were written, directed, acted and edited entirely by students in the Livermore Practical Film and Media Workshop. They are being bundled together specifically for the Out of the Box Festival.

Beautiful Disaster is the story of Chepeka, Texas, a small drought ridden town losing grip of its sense of community. When a mysterious out of town visitor arrives and foretells of a mighty storm,the townsfolk must come together to prepare or risk losing everything.

It is the summer of 1988, and nerdy 12-year-old Nintendo addict Ivan "Spud" Spudofsky III decides he's been a victim of the neighborhood bullies for too long and reinvents himself as a video-game superhero.

Two teenage cousins, discover a briefcase abandoned by their suspicious-looking next-door neighbor and, through exploring its contents and origins, discover new things about themselves and the world around them.

Betsy Johnson is afflicted with a disability because of a car accident when she was 11 years old. When a chance comes for her to reconnect with a childhood sweetheart whose just been released from prison, she becomes pregnant. Through this one night encounter, Betsy uses her pregnancy as an opportunity to bring her estranged father back into her life, even to the disapproval of her overprotective mother, while striving to regain a sense of normalcy with the people who matter most. Through these encounters, Betsy sees that it's not too late for a second chance at life, love and forgiveness.

Here and After introduces the viewer to Mark, one of several spirits inhabiting a local cemetery. They spend their continuing days of incorporeal existence marking idle conversation or, in Mark's case, ignoring each other as the world moves forward. This tedious routine comes to an abrupt halt however, when the recently deceased young girl named Wendy joins their small community and learns about her new existence and the punishments we choose for ourselves.

In an apocalyptic world of the 21st century, with civilization in ruins, our three unlikely allies are in search of a relic. A bandit, a bounty hunter, and a wanderer join together to save a lost friend and take down the dark forces that threaten the stability of the world. They turn to a wise man to help guide them down the right path. However, the path ahead is treacherous and danger lurks around every corner. This quest will truly test the bonds of this Brotherhood of the Cataclysm.
