- A mysteriously spreading period of postcard winter conditions, complete with snow, over most of the northern hemisphere shortly before Christmas influences several otherwise unrelated lives. Most obviously, weather channel presenter Billy, a former studio boss, whose show now becomes news again, gets to know his prompter text writer Joey. Businessman Warren, a gifted lier who pretends to be stuck in airports to explain his delay on the way home to his gullible wife, is found out and dumped by his conquest in Baltimore. Young mother Pilar, who got a bad custody deal for her darling little boy Miguel, is unable to deliver him to dad because of the snow; he asks the judge for full custody as punishment, but... Young Luke, who recently moved out of home, learns most of his guests, including his bossy mother, who came to cook the Christmas dinner where he is house-sitting, are stuck in traffic, so he decides to cook the goose with weird ex-socialite aunt Lula, who then forces him to a twist... In the South, even bride Stacey, who always got her way, is unable to wish away or ignore the unprecedented winter weather; the groom and her best friend, a cellist who nearly knows her from school, seize the opportunity... A bitter woman from greater Chicago visits Virginia and confronts her past...
- It's the reality show that's invading malls across America! It all begins when six ordinary women are ambushed while shopping. They're challenged by the show's guy/girl host team to compete against each other in a one-of-a kind beauty pageant. The race to win the crown and the big prize begins that instant! They are given only three hours (and $500) to prepare for the swimsuit, evening wear, and talent contests. What will run out first - the cash or the clock? Will their shopping companions bring out the best - or bring on the meltdown? No matter what goes on during the day, at night, it's all about what happens under the spotlight when a live audience will cast their votes, and viewers witness an ordinary woman transformed into Miss Instant Beauty!
- Jeff Foxworthy takes a look at the history of country comedy with Andy Griffith and its future with Bill Engvall. After a quick glance at its roots in Mark Twain and Will Rogers along with the radio work of Lum and Abner and Judy Canova, we enter the television era of the mid-50s where several clips from Stars of the Grand Ole Opry are presented. These clips include performances by Lonzo & Oscar, The Duke of Paducah, Grandpa Jones, June Carter, Minnie Pearl, and Rod Brasfield. Andy Griffith joins Jeff to talk about his career up to and including The Andy Griffith Show, from which a couple of clips and some behind-the scenes footage is shown. Hee Haw is the next step on this journey and we're treated to several short clips featuring some of the show's regulars. A good bit of time is spent on the work of Brother Dave Gardner who Foxworthy dubs the South's answer to Mort Sahl and Lenny Bruce. Audio, mostly from radio broadcasts, over stills only here as kine-scopes of over forty appearances on The Tonight Show have not survived the ravages of time. The history of country comedy is rounded out with stand-up performances by Jerry Clower, James Gregory, and Jim Varney. Bill Engvall arrives, at very near the mid-point of the film, to help Jeff introduce the current crop (the future) of country comedy stars. Clips from performances by Steve McGrew, Ron White, Henry Cho, Mark Lowry, Gary Mule Deer, Etta May, Mike Snyder, Killer Beaz, Larry the Cable Guy, and Bill Engvall are presented. Jeff signs off with, "Thanks for joinin' me. Good Night. God Bless." And as you reach for the remote a new title screen appears, "Bill Engvall & Jeff Foxworthy: Live in Las Vegas". Put down that remote. There's another 14 minutes of stand-up from Bill and Jeff inserted before the credits roll.
