What a pleasant surprise! A quirky, original Brit movie that keeps taking unexpected plot turns and builds to a very satisfying climax.
Craig Kelly gives a fantastic performance in the lead role. He is totally convincing as a former 90s "lad" who has lost his mojo after returning to his home town of Blackpool and becoming a father. He is pulled into a nightmarishly bizarre situation by his brother (a very strong -and funny-performance by Kelly's real life brother, Dean).
A strong supporting cast give a range of deliberately eccentric performances. All production credits are high. I was particularly impressed by the cinematography-Blackpool has never looked so strangely beautiful.

A cinematic masterpiece.
That Steven Spielberg directed this at 27 years of age is extraordinary. That Robert Shaw wasn't even nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor is criminal.
