The one liner of saripoddha sanivaram is interesting. Hot headed surya promises his dying mother that he will fight bad guys only on Saturday. Characters are well developed. Screenplay is good. Action scenes are well choreographed. Jakes bejoy score is also good. There are no unnecessary songs. The heroine character of priyanka is also crucial to the story not just an eye candy.

But despite all these good things you can't fully enjoy this film mainly because of one thing- LENGTH. The movie is too long close to 3 hours. There was no need for so much detailing. The director's previous film ante sundaraniki suffered from the same problem. Second half has many lag scenes where surya tells colony people to find himself which is tedious. And in second half surya turns into a saviour of a colony. I think nani is aiming to become a tier 1 superstar in Telugu. That's why this plot. But i felt that the conflict could have been much simpler between nani and sj suryah.

On the whole saripoddha sanivaram could have been a best Telugu action movie in recent time if it wasn't lengthy and crisp enough.

In sikandar, we can see all the symptoms of trigeminal neuralgia in salman khan's acting. He can't smile, dance,fight, saying his dialogues slowly. One has never seen salman being so lazy and disinterested in his 36 years career. Can't believe this is directed by a veteran like A. R. Murugadoss. There is nowhere his signature style making in this film. Bhai ka jalwa hai ki even supporting actors do not perform well. Because when bhai is not interested toh hum kyun Oscar level acting kare? All actors (including hindi speaking ones) are saying their dialogues as if they are reading it. When bhai enters mumbai, the movie turns into his being human campaign. Only good is the no thrones left theme of santhosh narayanan.

The real hero of gulaal is abhimanyu singh. He is charismatic and intriguing. But he gets killed in the first half itself. The moment he is killed, the film goes downhill.

Rest of the second half is aurat ka chakkar. The hero who was initially seedha saadha bhola bhaala turns into a phattu for a girl. The climax is so idiotic where the hero easily shoots kk menon who is surrounded by so many musclemen. And what is that teacher character in the film for? Kuch bhi ho raha hai second half mein.

Only positives are abhimanyu singh and some interesting scenes in first half. Kk menon has a very powerful character but fails to make any impact due to weak second half.
